Job Description
Job Summary
This Director role is intended to be a 2nd line of defense operational risk management oversight role for all retirement businesses within Asia Wealth & Asset Management (AWAM) and will be located in Hong Kong.  The role has a direct reporting line to Head of Risk, Global WAM (GWAM) Retirement, MAM Risk Management and dotted reporting to Chief Risk Officer, WAM Asia.

Essential Responsibilities:    
  • Will be responsible for assisting the Head of Risk, Global Retirement in providing leadership and direction to develop, implement and maintain effective risk governance and management practices, and for overseeing operational risk mitigation activities within all retirement businesses of AWAM
  • Develop close partnerships and provide valuable collaboration with business and functional leaders to ensure that key risks are properly identified, managed and mitigated promoting a disciplined approach to operational risk management within the pension business.
  • Facilitate and / or lead identification, assessment and reporting on Risk and Control Self Assessments (RCSA), including process mapping, identification and assessment of risk, identification of controls, and assessments of control design and effectiveness
  • Provides second line of defense risk oversight of the GWAM Operational risk program, including application of operational risk policies/standards, procedures, strategies, material risks, risk reporting routines and metrics related to the following common risk methodologies:
    • Change Risk Management (Including New Product Risk Assessments)
    • Process Risk Control Assessments
    • Key Risk Indicator Monitoring
    • Scenario Analysis
    • Loss Event / Incident Management
    • Risk Mitigation Strategies
  • Help drive culture of risk awareness
  • Lead risk governance activities in support of the Global Retirement Risk Committee

Job Requirements:
  • University degree in Finance/Risk
  • Minimum Five years of related risk management experience in the Wealth & Asset Management industry;
  • Demonstrated Operational Risk knowledge, including tools used to manage Operational Risk Framework
  • Strong analytical skills and detail-oriented;
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines;
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
