Excelsior has been engaged to conduct a search for this innovative and dynamic international organisation.  Our client is an exciting high growth stock / equity research service provider, that is experiencing immense growth and success providing specialist high quality equity research products to the hedge fund and wider long-only buy side community.  With unparalleled intelligent equity research capabilities than has traditionally been available, this company has found a niche with a unique and compelling invetsment research service allowing portfolio managers to capitalize upon unique stock opportunities.  

Following the on-boarding of many of the worlds biggest asset management and hedge fund names, they are continuing to expand to meet global growth ambitions by ensuring their solutions become industry standard for use in stock research.  Hence they are building up their established Hong Kong office with the appointment of their first dedicated Account Director to look after their current book of business and support further growth in the APAC region.   You'll take on full client relationship ownership for their APAC client base consisting of some of the regions largest and most prestigious hedge funds and asset managers, and more as the new business sales team brings on more.  As you'd expect you'll have responsibility for ensuring delivery of a first class service and client management to ensure client satisfaction, through to renewal of contracts and identifying cross / up-selling opportunities.  Certainly a great career opportunity for this person to "make the role their own", "have impact", and reap both the professional and personal rewards that come with such a career growth opportunity, as the Hong Kong operation continues to grow.


Appropriate applicants are likely to have the following skills and experience:

-  Experience managing institutional asset management / hedge fund client relationships. 

-  The role would suit particularly well someone in the markets at an investment bank, securities or brokerage house, in a Equity Sales, Relationship Management or Sales Trader type role wanting to be part of a more dynamic, creative and enterprising firm.  Alternatively you could have worked for an independent investment research provider or vendor such as a Factset or BCA Research etc.

-  Understand the business of and be able to communicate on a deep business level with portfolio managers, heads of research, equity analysts, research analysts, portfolio analysts etc.  Strong knowledge of equity research / stock picking / investment research / fundamental research is important.

-  The ability to pick up solutions which are new and unique in the market.

-  An intelligent, articulate, consultative and confident client facing demeanour, with commercial skills.

-  Have the personal motivation, pro-active nature and ability to contribute to a dynamic and entrepreneurial team culture.

-  Fluent in both English and Mandarin.
