Global Risk is a thriving and expert risk management function supporting HSBC globally with all aspects of risk management. The team actively manages a varied and dynamic range of risk types, including security, fraud, information security, contingency, geopolitical, operational, credit, pension, insurance, financial crime and regulatory compliance, market and reputation risks. All parts of the Global Risk team use their skills, insight and integrity to handle established threats and those they see emerging, acting to protect and enable HSBC to deliver sustainable growth.

We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as Financial Crime Risk Analytics Manager.

Principal responsibilities

  • Support models and analytic controls, that is design, development, implementation, optimisation and validation.
  • Assure the global standards for relevant models and analytics adhere to HSBC model governance and regulatory demand.
  • Provision of analytics to identify new risk trends and risks and recommend model or control amendments to address
  • Promote a culture of data driven decision making, aligning short term decisions and investments with longer term vision and objectives
  • Advise business and senior leaders on regulatory and risk management issues related to applicable models and analytics
  • Apply Global Risk Analytics policies, procedures, practices and standards to their allocated tasks, taking responsibility for their own actions, to ensure the achievement of high levels of quality, effective risk management and regulatory compliance.
  • Support achievement of the HSBC vision, Values, goals and culture in personal behaviour, actions and decision making
  • Take personal responsibility for understanding and agreeing performance expectations, completing the necessary mandatory training and developing the levels of capability and competence needed to be effective in the role.

Qualifications
Requirements
  • ​University graduate with proven and progressive experience in an analytical role, preferably in a financial institution, or other control related experience such as risk management, audit, examination; project management and business analysis skills, while not absolutely required, are desirable.
  • Client focused, with strong interpersonal and relationship building skills
  • Strong communication, both written and verbal, and presentation skills to all level of stakeholders
  • Sound judgment and problem solving skills, ability to think laterally
  • Demonstrated ability to grasp complex processes and concepts and make decisions and/or comprehensive recommendations across a broad range of subject matter
  • Good understanding of Financial Crime Compliance regulatory landscape and the related risk governance in a large financial institution; ideally previous experience in a Financial Crime Compliance related function
  • Good coordination and planning skills with the ability to balance short term and long term priorities
  • Working knowledge of Anti Money Laundering Transaction Monitoring systems, for example Norkom, Actimize, Oracle and or Screening systems
  • Hands on experience in business analysis and requirement gathering and/or interpreting regulations
