We specialise in foreign exchange, credits and rates, structured derivatives, equities and debt, equity and equity-linked capital markets.

We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as Associate Director, Institutional Client Group Control Officer Asia Pacific.

Principal responsibilities

  • ​Oversee the control and conduct framework within the regional Markets business.
  • Support the regional business by owning and ensuring effective execution of global governance, assurance, conduct and control standards, or defining where specific or relevant to the regional business.
  • Work closely with the Regional control teams, as well as the business management community and their support functions to collectively ensure the effective implementation and design of control standards, governance and procedures with the aim of sharing and promoting best practice.
  • Design and implement new policies and procedures for and on behalf of the global asset class in accordance with the Bank's policy and risk appetite
  • Review the output of desk control reviews, thematic reviews and other remediation and assurance work and monitor actions to ensure effective closure in a timely manner.
  • Take the lead in drafting, reporting and investigating Operational incidents related to the business and ensuring timely escalation to management.
  • Drive the identification of control enhancements within the current control environment and therefore the control change agenda for the asset class.
  • Challenge and advise on other business changes which may impact key controls for the business.

  • Degree holder, preferably with a professional qualification, with strong knowledge of internal control, governance, policy and risk management in markets
  • Experience in business management, Audit or risk and control roles within a markets business
  • Strong understanding of Markets business and products
  • Strategic thinker with strong analytical and project management skills to enhance standards, policies and controls
  • Well-developed leadership and people management skills, able to drive change and provide positive influence to achieve organisation goals
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to negotiate and work effectively with senior business management across business lines and geographies
  • Strong problem solving and prioritization skills and be able to perform multitask under pressure with a keen eye for detail
  • Excellent team player with a proactive and self-motivated attitude and ability to think and act independently
