We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as Global Technology Partner .

Principal responsibilities

  • The Global Cards Technology Partner role is located in Hong Kong
  • Responsible for translate global business strategy into product roadmap
  • Scan and test the market for innovation opportunities with new technology. Influence product strategy decisions based on HSBC landscape and future state of technology
  • Promote time to market solution opportunities with an eye to global value. Enforce governance and control over product proposition
  • Reporting functionally into Head of Global Cards Product Management, with the primary responsibility to manage the stakeholders both internally and externally. Join up with stakeholders to manage vendor relationships
  • Collaborate amongst business, IT and Operations teams. To develop appropriate procedures and framework to manage changes, particularly within the Cards Product Management and IT Card Engineering Teams
  • Driving sustainable growth. Develop the IT sub function responsibly, engaging with colleagues across the function including peer Senior Managers and typically 2 levels up the organisation reviewing and driving the sub function strategy feeding into the overall IT Strategy , strong impact to support risk and regulation
  • Governance and strategy role within the IT sub function develops strategies for the use or development of IT services. Responsible for the end to end user experience of their portfolio, potential sign off party for sub function strategies to support peers in IT
  • Achieving excellence. Focuses on medium and long term goals even when under pressure or facing uncertainty. Manages expectations, results and impact of agreed outcomes, thinking ahead to identify and overcome potential issues, benefitting from a good network of Senior Managers to collectively identify and mitigate risk. Responsible for end to end user experience of their portfolio
  • Change portfolio definition, planning and execution. Leads construction of portfolio strategy and supports definition of budgets, facilitates discussions and influences stakeholders. Steers and guides the team to deliver change implementation activities, and provides regular updates to stakeholders. Leads the end to end change journey and facilitates through effective communication, preparation and implementation with peers across HSBC
  • Responsible for all Product Management functions such as subject matter expert, consulting, portfolio management support, product governance, process, operations, and programme oversight
  • Serves an inter disciplinary role in IT, bridging gaps between teams of different product expertise, most notably between the engineering oriented teams and the commercially oriented teams, and works closely with these teams to explain the capabilities and limitations of the current Cards platform
  • Manage the existing Cards product propositions, policies and processes and recommendations for improvements, given the existing market forces, regulatory requirements and internal and external Regional best practices
  • Manages the development and launch of new Cards small to large and or complex, cross functional initiatives that require significant coordination across business disciplines and IT, streamlining the engagement process end to end to achieve efficiencies and sustainable costs saves
  • Ensure adherence to the Global Standard Product range for Cards, to improve cost efficiency and allow the leveraging of Group scale, and align with Group Propositions
  • Provides timely reports on Cards programme status, risks and issues, evaluating performance based on requested management information


Qualifications

Requirements

  • Knowledge and working experience in Cards products, Credit, Debit and Corporate, Commercial, including a good understanding of unsecured lending market
  • University degree or above, alternatively commensurate with working experience in credit product management
  • Must have past experience of creating and deploying comprehensive business, operating plans which consistently deliver desired results
  • In depth understanding of HSBC structures, processes and objectives across the Group
  • Strong people leadership, team work, gathering information and analysing, judgment and decision making skills
  • Experience managing complex and large scale projects that require significant coordination across business disciplines and IT
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills, ability to communicate with impact, ensuring complex information is articulated in a meaningful way to wide and varied audiences
  • Experience in budget management and use of numerical data to assesses and report on performance and or identify business issues and opportunities
  • Working knowledge of Group methodologies preferred in Agile or Software Development Life Cycle
