Leading the Change Delivery function for GBS Operations across Asia, you will act as an internal consultant to the business in the delivery of business process changes and service enhancements and be responsible for enabling the organisation to successfully deliver on its strategic change objectives. You will be the primary point of contact in the Change Team for the most senior GBS Operations lead in the Asia Pacific region.

Department Description

Intelligent Automation & Change drives process improvement, automation and manages the change portfolio for Group Business Operations. The Change function provides the professional programme, project and PMO capabilities to manage strategic change within GBS Operations. Additionally it provides the portfolio management, enables prioritisation and governance and is the initial interface point for change led through other functions.

The Change function also owns and builds change capability within GBS Operations. Additionally it works with technology to ensure consistent management of change across GBS.

Purpose of your role

Leading the Change Delivery function for GBS Operations across Asia, you will act as an internal consultant to the business in the delivery of business process changes and service enhancements and be responsible for enabling the organisation to successfully deliver on its strategic change objectives. You will be the primary point of contact in the Change Team for the most senior GBS Operations lead in the Asia Pacific region.

Responsibilities

  • The Head of Change - Asia will serve as a change leader within the region, engaging across the organisation on change programs and initiative reporting
  • Programme and project resource management of Asia project portfolio
  • Work across asset class and cross function / operational teams throughout the region to determine key milestones and underlying resource requirements to support the change management process
  • Build and effectively manage relationships with senior stakeholders within the GBS Operations in Asia Pacific. Provide regular reporting and updates, and provide the point of entry for new change requests
  • Responsibility for implementing conclusions of strategic reviews, process re-design, organization re-design, operating model strategies, product and channel / market access strategy
  • Partner as appropriate with Change Delivery teams within Europe to deliver strategic global initiatives that benefit the whole organisation
  • Provide effective reporting on change initiatives within the Asia portfolio according to PMO standards
  • Support the Head of Change, GBS Operations in decisions on the prioritisation of resourcing across change portfolios
  • Manage and provide guidance and mentoring to a team of project managers and further develop the capability to fully service the Asia Pacific
  • Lead and manage key initiatives
  • Navigate the organisation, bring together stakeholders, negotiate differences and draw effective conclusions
  • Facilitate and drive targeted reviews of local business priorities
  • Probe and ask appropriate questions to extract information, follow up and brings closure to issues. Issues are wide ranging and have cost and service implications.
  • Support senior management to deliver business objectives
  • Measure the impact of change, including benefits reporting
  • Be an organization SME in the use and application of Change Management tools and techniques

Experience and Qualifications Required

  • Minimum 10 years project management or business analysis experience within a fund management company / investment banking focusing on executing business initiatives or change programmes.
  • Strong and proven track record in managing teams and interacting with multi-functional teams across global geographies as a senior project manager.
  • Strong understanding of the investment process and how it fits into the overall business.
  • Broad-based knowledge of asset management and investment management operations
  • Understanding of the usages of different types of equity, fixed income, multi-asset, and derivative instruments in Asia
  • Strong communication skills. Must establish good rapport and be able to communicate at all levels.
  • Ability to work at different levels of detail, including a grasp of big picture concepts and complex detailed issues.
  • Excellent planning, prioritisation, problem solving and organisational skills.
  • Experience of balancing multiple tasks and playing different roles depending upon the size/type of project.
  • Proficient in Excel, Visio, Power Point, MS Project
  • Dynamic "can do" attitude with a strong desire to make things happen
  • Fluent in English; Cantonese and Putonghua language skills would be ideal
