We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as Head of Infrastructure Practice, Asia Pacific .

Principal responsibilities

  • Accountable for ITID Asiapac relationship within GBM. Collaborate with peers in IT and HTS Partners, to ensure the delivery of goals for GBM with respect to the infrastructure aspects. Communicate and implement the GBM and ITID strategy to explain the benefits accordingly. Hence ensure Asiapac specific infra requirements are managed appropriately.
  • Manage a predominantly virtual team of infra FTE as part of the GBM Asiapac function and hence meet GBM infra goals in the Asiapac region. Set the strategic direction for the teams and ensure adequate solutions are utilised by effectively managing competing and shifting priorities.
  • Work closely with Asset Class Leads, Project Managers and Subject Matter Experts to implement AC strategy, support business requirements and function goals within entity policy, expense and regulatory constraints.
  • Oversee the infrastructure aspects for the portfolio of projects which have cross asset class infrastructure deliverables
  • Act as escalation proint for all infrastructure issues the asset classes are unable to resolve themselves. Work closely with and cover for the Head of Infrastructure Practice for Europe and Americas
  • DevOps. Improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the infrastructure, production support and other IT teams by championing the use of Agile and DevOps principles and methodologies. Identify key blockers and play a lead role in the removal of blockers and hence facilitate the implemenation of tactical and strategic solutions accordingly
  • Advise and guide the shaping of the infrastructure architecture which underpins the GBM business. Work with the asset classes to maximise consistency and reuse of solutions across the GBM business we support
  • Move towards a federated but governed model for as much Infrastructure work as we can whilst ensuring we meet standards accordingly



  • Proven IT and management skills within a Global Financial Institution, from a Change The Bank and Run The Bank perspective.
  • Strong, credible technical background with extensive knowledge of technology platforms and infrastructure such as Data Centre, Server, Networks, Storage, Database, Desktops, Virtualisation, Cloud etc.
  • Broad knowledge of GBM business operational processes from front to back office from an infrastructure and support perspective.
  • Previous experience of Project or Portfolio management, ideally in infrastructure related projects.
  • Proven problem solver who can lead from the front when required. Able to take a hands on and off view when managing problems.
  • Proven manager with experience of managing physical and virtual teams both located locally and remotely across the globe.
  • Proven Relationship Management skills, within an infrastructure, layered products and application management space.
  • Experience of navigating infrastructure processes e.g. project delivery, procurement and service delivery.
  • Certified in a Service Management framework would be preferable, e.g. ITIL.
  • Exposure to IT Risk frameworks especially CyberSecurity is desirable.
  • Help to drive continuous improvement and service stability of the GBM infrastructure and production systems.
  • Excellent decision making and problem solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to translate technical details into easily understood and consumable data and reports.
  • Have an automation and change mentality, and strive for constant improvements via automated processes.
