The Role Responsibilities

Embed use of PRTF in RB, WM and PvB

  • Embed key risk metrics and ensure operational risks are managed in the respective businesses

  • Ensure the completeness of the Operational Risk Profile of the businesses, including consideration of all risks which have been accepted by the Group Risk Committees

  • Tabled the relevant risk information report and risk management actions plans to the relevant business forums and committees for discussion

  • Recommend and oversee implementation of business restrictions, process and/or control improvements where necessary

  • Plan and deliver scenario analysis and stress test where relevant

  • Be the focal point of operational risk review on strategy, process and control embedded in the business to ensure fit for growth

Ensure compliance with OR Policies

  • Ensure immediate escalation to Group Operational Risk of any unsatisfactory / material operational risk events

  • Drive comprehensive, high quality root cause analysis of unsatisfactory / material operational risk events and agree risk management action plans with business process owners

  • Ensure new activities, changes to processes and products from the respective business units conform with the Project Governance Policy and the Product Governance Policy

  • Periodic oversight overall risk profile of the business

  • Embed Operational Risk policies, ensuring 1 st and 2 nd line are aware of and understand their responsibilities under them

Deliver second line assurance

  • Assurance over integrity of the business operational risk profile, include accurate and complete gross risks and controls environment

  • Periodic assurance of residual risk assessments

  • Ensure controls are operating effectively and defects are resolves or escalated accordingly

  • Identify differences in standards set by the Country and Group Operational Risk teams

  • Periodic assurance performed on identified processes and controls under the Assurance Program

Regulatory & Business Conduct
  • Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group's Values and Code of Conduct.
  • Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.
  • Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.

Our Ideal Candidate

  • Academic or Professional Educations / Qualifications

  • Professional Memberships such as Chartered Accountants

  • Business level proficiency in written and spoken English, ability to speak Cantonese and read Chinese preferred but not essential
