The Risk Assurance and Control function is an independent risk management role within the second line of defence with the responsibility to perform comprehensive risk assessments (Credit and Non-financial risks) of an assigned business and/or location and/or region’s credit risk profile, credit management process and risk control frameworks. The team operates in a regional context and supports the Regional CRO in ensuring the effective independent second line Risk Management for the Asia region.
The team comprises two core functions, each contributing to the overall assurance and control activities within the region.
The 2nd Line Assurance & Control testing team provides an independent assessment of the control effectiveness of the key-controls and to support the improvement of the risk position in the region including Rabobank’s treasury activities. The team has an important role in the delivery of an effective Risk Control Framework (RCF) through testing and advice, achieved via the delivery of a Regional control testing plan and supporting risk identification and control design effectiveness.
The Credit Quality Assurance function is responsible for helping the Bank accomplish its objectives by assessing the credit quality, and to evaluate and test the effectiveness of credit risk management, control, and governance. As part of this, the CQA team evaluates the completeness, consistency and accuracy of the credit profile (incl. risk parameter and non-financial risk assessment) of individual loans and credit facilities. It also evaluates whether the businesses complies with internal policies, standards and procedures, and whether legislative or regulatory requirements are appropriately addressed. The CQA team furnishes management with this analysis and, when applicable, advice and recommendations to the business.
