We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as Head of Risk Management and Compliance.

Principal responsibilities

  • Taking a lead role in managing the Risk Management and Compliance Team at EPS Company
  • Acting as the first compliance contact between EPS Company and Hong Kong Monetary Authority
  • Assuring compliance of risk-related policies and guidelines, both HSBC internal and externally required under the Retail Payment System designation, at EPS Company
  • Providing risk management advice for business development by EPS Company within right risk appetite and appropriate for the fast developing electronic and smartphone payment market
  • To have an overall responsibility for compliance and risk management reporting and documentation at EPS Company
  • To develop risk management policies and guidelines for various teams of EPS Company and oversee effective implementation there
  • To contribute measures and input from risk control perspective for assisting the payment products and services of EPS Company to mitigate potential risks without losing sight of commercial consideration
  • To coordinate and oversee the preparation by various teams of EPS Company on different stages of business continuity covering analysis, resources planning, drill and review in annual basis
  • To oversee implementation and ensure compliance of HSBC internal and external risk control policies at EPS Company
  • To advise business team and senior management to tighten up control on accepting new merchants from identified industry segments with increasing risks
  • To develop policies and provide advices to business team on due diligence requirements including but not limited to Know Your Customer profile content, latest sanction prohibitions and relevant regulatory requirements.

  • A university graduate with solid working experience in risk management or compliance area
  • Relevant professional qualifications in risk management or compliance area like International Compliance Association, Financial Risk Management is preferred
  • Previous working experience in banking, financial audit, legal sectors will be an advantage
  • Previous working experience with a need to contact regulators will be another advantage
  • Extensive expertise in Anti Money Laundry, Sanctions, financial crime control programs
  • Demonstrated leadership to think strategically and articulate risk management policy changes in response to dynamic market situation
  • Demonstrated understanding and knowledge of payment market and latest technologies used
  • Strong analytical reasoning and negotiation skills
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication and presentation skills
