We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as IT Programme Manager.

Principal responsibilities

  • Responsible to drive strategy and shape the programme or portfolio approach across various delivery teams including DevOps teams and business functions
  • Set the parameters for more detailed planning, especially key phases and country scope
  • Engagement between the programme or portfolio and the Global Digital portfolio
  • Supports successful delivery of business value by proactively, balancing scope, schedule, interdependencies, budget and risks. Delegate responsibility for delivery to Project Managers
  • Building stakeholder buy-in around plans, commitments and changes
  • Accountable for resource alignment, the establishment of effective controls in line with standard frameworks, ensuring that the right framework is used across the programme or portfolio to assure delivery and to ensure that Agile and DevOps principles and practices are adopted across the programme
  • Set high expectations concerning quality and put in place quality assurance processes
  • Report progress, issues, dependencies and risks in line with agreed governance and make recommendations to influence decision making in order to maintain progress towards delivery and benefits realisation
  • Provide visible leadership to maintain a focus on how the programme aligns to the Global portfolio
  • Head of Programme operates at an executive level to engage and influence a wide spectrum of stakeholders and partners across HSBC, including sponsor and steering committee


Qualifications
Requirements
  • Extensive experience in an end-to-end IT project management role and able to evidence successful delivery of multiple projects or initiatives
  • Proven track record of IT delivery using Agile or DevOps methodology within a Digital environment
  • Prior experience of working with Digital technology or banking systems
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience using key tools including Clarity, Jira and Confluence Experience of delivery on a global scale i.e. across time zone and geography and with remote teams
  • Highly motivated and able to work independently, under pressure and proactively in a fast paced environment with multiple deadlines
  • Positive, proactive and can-do attitude
  • Availability to undertake the travel required for this role, i.e. occasional travel to and from London
  • Project Management accreditation, highly preferred
