KYC Procedures & Training Lead


SG CIB is the Corporate and Investment Banking arm of the Société Générale Group. Present in over 50 countries across Europe, the Americas and Asia. SG CIB provides corporate, financial institutions, investors and public sector clients with value-added integrated financial solutions. Primary Objectives
The Governance, Controls and Regulatory Data team is part of the Client Lifecycle Management (CLM) Function within COO. CLM is responsible for the SGCIB's Onboarding, KYC and Client Referential processes. Its mission is to make onboarding quicker, simpler and more digital whilst ensuring the bank is fully compliant with its regulatory obligations on a worldwide basis thereby providing the institution with adequate and complete client information.
The KYC Procedures & Training Lead reports to the Regional Head CLM Controls and Regulatory Data in Hong Kong.


Main Responsibilities

Procedures Management & Internal Advisory

  • Create / update local CLM procedures and tools based on changes to global, regional or local policies or audit requirements
  • Define a robust framework to manage the procedure changes and ensure the changes are effectively embedded and communicated to APAC CLM and Business
  • Liaise with global procedures / training teams and regional / local Compliance teams on global / regional initiatives
Training & Internal Advisory
  • Design a training programme for CLM KYC and Business, this includes new hires in KYC or Business, ongoing refresher courses or targeted training sessions due to new requirements or findings arisen from audit or compliance testing
  • Create training materials appropriate to the training audience and conduct in-classroom and virtual trainings to CLM and Business
  • Design a knowledge management framework that allows different ways of disseminating knowledge across CLM and Business
  • Act as AML KYC subject matter expertise and provide internal advisory to APAC CLM and Business on any unclear operational guidance arisen from the procedures or policies
Quality Assurance & Controls

  • Perform quality assurance checks on the post KYC production files
  • Ensure the quality of the tested samples are aligned with the internal and local / global AML / KYC requirements
  • Identify learning points from the quality assurance controls and feed into the training and knowledge management programme
Transformation Programme
  • Lead and contribute to the procedures 7 training transformation workstream


  • Previous experience in AML & KYC or related field in an investment bank or capital market
  • Experience of working in an international, multi-cultural organisation
  • Ability to juggle competing priorities in a dynamic environment
  • Experience in transformation projects / change initiatives

Technical Skills

  • 8 years or above of practical knowledge of AML and KYC regulations (e.g. US, FCA, HKMA & MAS)
  • 5 years or above of procedure writing / training delivery to an audience over 20 people
  • Risk and control mindset
  • Confident in presenting and communicating to people at all levels and from different teams
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to work in a dynamic and high pressure environment
  • Rigor, self-starter, pro-active and solution-oriented
  • Ability to report in due time, identify priorities and address difficult situations with autonomy

  • Fluent in English
  • Degree in Business, Finance or other relevant field
  • (Optional) CAMS Certified or equivalent
