We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as Manager, Framework, Governance and Reporting .

Principal responsibilities

  • Act as a manager within the Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Securities Services, Chief Control Office function , assisting in driving management, coordination and execution of risk management activities across the business
  • Maintain strong relationships with local business including branch management and business managers
  • Oversee the effective monitoring of risks, services and processes against agreed group wide or global standards and external requirements
  • Ensure the risk governance framework is clear, fit for purpose and executed as defined, and that escalation paths are adequate and effective
  • Support line management as a key point of contact for Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Securities Services risk and control framework, policies, governance and reporting arrangements
  • Support the Chief Control Office and Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Securities Services senior management in ensuring the appropriate risk and control structure is in place and that risks that have been highlighted are managed appropriately
  • Attend as required Risk and Control related committees forums and ensure that the agenda effectively covers critical Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Securities Services risks and issues
  • Regularly review the business risk management policies and operating processes and activities, taking into account local laws and regulatory requirements as appropriate
  • Assist the Chief Control Office function to minimise the likelihood and impact of disruption by ensuring that the business can continue to meet at least the minimum expectations of customers, counterparties, regulators and other stakeholders at all times
  • Drive to ensure that the business inherent risk profile and any related issues or impacts are understood by the business and the appropriate actions and or risk acceptance have been put in place to manage


Qualifications
Requirements
  • ​Educated to undergraduate or post graduate degree level in Accountancy, Finance or related field
  • Relevant experience in the assurance, risk and control field of the financial industry or with Big 4 accounting firms
  • Strong leadership and management ability, including motivating employees in the wider organisation
  • Deep understanding of Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation structures, processes and objectives, especially in the risk environment
  • Broad knowledge of the external environment including regulatory, political and competitors
  • Deep knowledge of Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation and Global Banking and Markets in aspects including functionally, operationally and financially
  • Proven ability to articulate complex issues concisely and in clear language
  • Relationship management and collaboration skills, with the ability to form effective relationships and achieve influence with peers across the organisation
  • Practical experience of major business transformation activities
