The potential recruit will be a Team Manager of Sales & Transactions Assurance for Private Banking (PvB), Hong Kong who manages the risks and controls on post trade sales suitability monitoring, call monitoring and platform management for PvB business.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

  • Manage the Call Monitoring Unit to perform post trade voice log review, to assure that all advisory process and disclosure are conducted and adhere to the Bank's policies and procedures
  • Work closely with Ops Risk, Compliance and the COO office to report, resolve any issues and assess impact to the bank and clients.
  • Perform the team's self assessment and rationale review
  • Consolidate the team's review results and exception for reporting to the monthly Business Op Risk Committee
  • Responsible for the monthly Key Control Indicator reporting, Control Exception tracking and Residual reporting to Operation Risks
  • Conduct Inducting Training and refresher training
  • Guide the Sales & Transactions Assurance Officers to perform the following:
  • Post Trade Sales Suitability Monitoring to ensure commentary is received and actions are taken for unsuited trades as per the Bank's internal policy and regulatory requirements.
  • Call monitoring and perform Cross Border Guideline controls, follow up rectification and make recommendations as appropriate
  • Coordinate and collect the IPO and Fixed Income New Issue applications, perform allocation and obtain approval for allocation for institutional tranche
  • Support the preparation of Credit Applications for submission to PvB Credit Risk for approval:
    • Obtain relevant information from CAs in preparation of eBCA
    • Liaise with CAs to gather necessary information to PvB Credit Risk for credit assessment
    • Follow through the credit approval process until eBCA is approved
  • Prepare the credit documentation for client's signatory
  • Check daily foreign exchange report and follow up any invalidated trades with responsible parties until rectification is complete
  • Clear Desk Policy Review
  • Support the function of Retail Banking Specialists:
    • Fund transfer and foreign cheque deposit in retail banking system
    • Handle the returned inward clearing cheque and autopay
    • Handle the cheque deposit in T24
    • Overseas company/land search
      • Liaise with relevant parties, e.g. Spoke, Compliance, Singapore Hub, Operational Risk, Compliance, etc. in migrating new and streamlining existing processes to maximize productivity and efficiency in PvB
      • Conduct and coordinate periodic business monitoring and LKCSA/BKCSA activities. Escalate issues to Department Head. Follow up on exceptional / unreconciled items / SARs, etc until resolution
      • Assist Department Head in ad hoc projects from time to time


    Qualifications and Skills

    • University graduate
    • At least 10-15 years of solid experience in banking operations and risk control, preferably in private banking business or wealth management
    • Self starter with detail-oriented mind, strong communication skills, work well independently and on a team
    • Possess strong control sense, able to identify potential risk and provides valid recommendation
    • Good command of both written and spoken in English and Chinese
    • Proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint and Word is a must
