Middleware / Tomcat Engineer

Our client is a regional technology solution provider and well established in Hong Kong. They are currently looking for Middleware / Tomcat Engineer to work on site at an international bank. You will need to be able to work in a fast paced and dynamic environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for installing, configuring, and troubleshooting middleware products such as IBM WebSphere, Apache Tomcat & CA Siteminder and experience supporting high-availability enterprise sized web applications
  • Maintain the technical operation of production application middle-tier servers in multiple environments
  • Design, build, and maintain tools and utilities that improve the operation, automation, and administration of systems, applications, and operational tasks
  • Assist software developers with dynamic application features such as authentication, authorization, auditing, configuration management, or debugging middle-tier applications.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends, evaluate potential tools/applications and maintain good vendor relationships
  • Respond to complex system problems and user questions, providing analysis and solutions as needed
  • Produce weekly, monthly and yearly status reports for KPI's in Changes, Incidents, Automation, RISK and projects delivery
  • Ability to articulate to senior management and business stakeholders about ongoing critical issues, business initiatives and team road maps
  • Be able to work in a dynamic 24X7 on call for Middleware operations

Requirements:
  • University graduate in Computer Science, Information Technology or related disciplines
  • 5 - 8 years of relevant experience
  • Exposure in deployment and problem-solving components and applications on Tomcat and WebShepe
  • Experience with web technologies such as HTTP, HTML, XML, Web Services, Apache, Tomcat and WebSphere
  • Effective analytical and problem-solving skills to craft creative solutions to complex problems in cross-organizational efforts
  • Experience with automation tools such as Puppet, Ansible, Jenkins pipelines, Chef
  • Knowledge in Shell, Perl, Ruby, Python languages is also required
