We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as Product Governance Manager .

Principal responsibilities

  • Product Governance aims to drive governance processes and product risk control in a forward looking manner to ensure sustainability of our In Force Product Portfolio
  • One of the key responsibilities for this role is to manage and hold the secretary role for the Hong Kong Insurance Product Committee, which is the key committee in managing the development of new insurance products, and the management of existing insurance products within Hong Kong and Macau
  • Any new product or changes to existing products must undergo a robust due diligence and approval process that addresses the key risks that may arise throughout the entire product life-cycle
  • This role must ensure that all the missions that needs to be fulfilled by the Product Committee are performed diligently and efficiently in accordance with the Terms of Reference. This involves working closely with Project Managers and Product Heads on respective business growth initiatives in relation to product to ensure that it adheres to Insurance Functional Instruction Manual and product approval process
  • Act as the Management Information Small to Medium Enterprise for the Product Governance team to drive the development and delivery of granular Management Information and automation roadmap for the key metrics related to In Force Product Management in order to facilitate appropriate business management review
  • Conduct regular business review and analysis on our product portfolio in order to ensure sustainability of our in force portfolio
  • Manage portfolio incidents and support the delivery of any remediation plan and build controls, as necessary, to avoid recurrence
  • Manage the closure of assigned audit management actions, internal control testing and reporting in order to manage the associated risks to our in force book
  • Support the delivery of various reports or updates to various business committees, including Insurance Hong Kong Executive Committee, Wealth Management Oversight Committee and Group Insurance
  • Support the delivery of various Product Governance related projects as assigned by the Team Head
  • Work closely with all key stakeholders from Group and Local Office to maintain the highest standard of governance process to improve efficiency and proactively challenge status quo to meet evolving business needs
  • Manage and report on the budget for the Product department

  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree in actuarial science, statistics, mathematics, business or related field
  • Solid years of experience in financial services with Life Insurance Product experience, for example Universal Life, ILAS, Par, Protection, in retailing to different segment of customers via multiple distribution channels
  • Proven analytical, planning and project management experience within Insurance Business
  • Experience with In Force Product Management and familiarity with associated MI
  • Proven experience of managing support to diversified team with multiple objectives
  • Strong leadership skills coupled with a high and demanding benchmark
  • Highly effective communication and interpersonal skills, with excellent relationship building and stakeholder management skills
  • High levels of energy and enthusiasm, with the ability to influence, engage and lead in a positive and inspiring manner
  • Ability to think strategically in line with HSBC Group's vision
  • Ability to build long-term relationships and manage all levels of stakeholders
  • Ability to navigate complexities. Knowledge of HSBC Group desired
  • Excellent written and verbal skills in English. Chinese would be an advantage.
  • Proficiency in working with Excel and PowerPoint
