We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as Project Manager.

Principal responsibilities

  • ​Mange the project approach, building stakeholder acceptance with the project plan, commitments and changes.
  • Support Technology teams to manage delivery proactively, balancing scope, schedule, resourcing, dependencies, communications, budget
  • Work with the Technology team and Product Owner to drive improvements in productivity through backlog management, maturity in the use of Agile methodologies such as Scrum, Kanban, Lean and corresponding management of dependencies
  • Provide management to maintain a focus on how the project aligns to wider programme objectives, where appropriate, and to the change portfolio across HSBC
  • Manage, monitor and report progress, issues, dependencies, risks to the programme management, internal stakeholders and or steering committees. Make recommendations to influence decision making in order to maintain progress towards delivery and benefits realisation
  • Enforce process discipline and improvements in areas of expertise, such as disciplined agile software delivery, production support processes, continuous DevOps pipelines development.
  • Help in the development and running of the programme management office or project management practice.
  • Ensure adherence to standard controls and drives teams to achieve compliance and framework, capability management, Security controls and technology architecture designs

  • Graduate or postgraduate degree in Science, Business Administration, Social Sciences in Psychology, Economics, Finance, Accounting or a related field.
  • Excellent experience in Project or Programme Management operating in a global environment with strong track record of business and IT programme delivery in a global, regional and local structure.
  • Insurance Industry experience
  • Ability to develop cohesive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure with competing and changing priorities.
  • Proven and demonstrable knowledge of best practice within Project Management and Business Analysis standards, tooling and process.
  • Ability to bring analytical rigour, structure and effective solutions to poorly defined problems
  • Proven leadership skills, with a track record of building and motivating high performance teams
  • Strong interpersonal, influencing, persuading and communication skills which are applicable through multiple channels such as written, spoken, workshops, presentations
  • Excellent team leader and player, able to lead others into action, and with ability to work under minimal supervision
  • Ability to find ways of solving or anticipating problems.
