We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as Regional Marketing Business Risk and Control Manager.

Principal responsibilities

  • Assist the business or function in identifying and assessing operational risks and controls within acceptable levels to the scale and nature of the area's operations and within Group and regional standards and local regulations.
  • Monitoring the ongoing effectiveness of key controls to gain assurance that they are operating in line with risk appetite and any regulatory and HSBC requirements.
  • Ensure issues and risks arising are promptly and efficiently assessed, escalated and remediated.
  • Report incidents identified by the business or function in accordance with the HSBC standards.
  • Promote, communicate and, where appropriate, provide training in relation to the First Line of Defence, ensuring buy in to the Operational Risk methodology.
  • Raise awareness, understanding and knowledge of the Group's Three Lines of Defence model through internal communications.
  • To undertake effective risk and control monitoring programmes based on areas of key risks.
  • To continually reassess the risk and control environment and the adequacy of the controls within.

  • Background in Banking, operational risk management, accounting or internal audit preferred.
  • Financial services experience, Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Accounting, Audit, Risk or Compliance professional designation preferred
  • Experience of implementing control frameworks within complex environments
  • Ability to understand, identify, and challenge key risks and controls that require testing within processes
  • Analytical and review skills with the ability to draw the correct conclusions from reviews.
  • Sound verbal and written communication skills that promote and enable openness with staff, management, internal partners, and external parties.
  • Ability to influence Senior Leaders across multiple business lines
  • Ability to work professionally with all levels of staff and management.
  • Sound judgment, keen sense of urgency, and high level of professional and personal integrity
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong teamwork, organisation, complex problem resolution, initiative.
  • Ability to assist in the training and development of analyst staff.
