Business Function
Global Transaction Services (GTS) comprises of Cash & Trade, Securities Services and Fiduciary Services. In an increasingly borderless world marked by burgeoning trade flow, expertise in trade finance services is an invaluable asset. With cash the lifeblood of every company, so too, is a good understanding of how to manage these cashflows. Trade Finance, together with Cash Management, is the mainstay of GTS, and is extended to SME and corporate clients for their local and cross-border financial transaction needs.

Responsibilities
  • Subject matter expert for Corporate Treasury solutions knowledge. Keep abreast of current and evolving regulations and market environment
  • Be the expert and advisory partner to help Sales/RMs to structure Corporate Treasury Centre cash management solutions including liquidity management, payments/collection solutions, TMS & ERP integration, etc
  • Partner with Sales/RMs on large, complex client engagements to drive commercialisation of complex cash (including pooling, sweeping and POBO/ROBO) capabilities, resulting in winning mandates from large corporates
  • Join Sales and RMs in pitching to clients and ensuring the right solutions are structured for client needs. These may include guiding clients on set-up of a new Corporate Treasury Centre, or providing solutions to help clients improve the effectiveness of their existing Treasury set-up
  • Structures may include regional Asia cash pools to be implemented in DBS Hong Kong, including non-resident entities or cross-border structures, or where the client's regional CFO/Treasurer are based in Hong Kong
  • Educate clients on best-in-class solutions speaking the CFO/Treasurer's language
  • Speak at GTS Marketing activities and client events and webinars
  • Provide content for RM upskilling/training programme, and run training sessions as required

Requirements
  • Knowledge of Corporate Treasury practices. Experience in a Finance/Treasury role for a Corporate is highly desired so as to understand the solutions from the client's perspective
  • Able to draw structures on a white-board on the fly, reacting to client scenarios and needs
  • Ability to explain about Asia regulations affecting Liquidity Management structures (particularly China)
  • Competent on local and international corporate treasury/ commercial practices
  • Knowledge of In-house Banking structures e.g. POBO/ROBO
  • Knowledge of Hong Kong CTC incentives
  • Ability to speak the corporate treasury client's language and terminology
  • Ability to talk about the implications of intercompany loans, arm's length interest, withholding tax, cross-guarantees, etc
  • Strong commercial acumen
  • Able to analyse data and identify patterns and trends
  • Strong communication, relationship & people skills to build relationships with key stakeholders and influence stakeholders to take action
  • Positive 'can-do' attitude
  • Proactive self-starter
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English, Cantonese and Mandarin (for client meetings) is essential
