About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned AI Lead to architect and deliver next-generation, large-scale AI systems within a dynamic banking environment. In this critical role, you will bridge the gap between business vision and technical execution, driving AI adoption while ensuring strict adherence to industry regulations. You will lead projects from conception to deployment, mentor a team of engineers, and champion the integration of cutting-edge AI technologies into our financial infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

1. Technical Leadership: Spearhead the end-to-end development, testing, and maintenance of robust AI applications, ensuring they are scalable, secure, and performant.
2. Strategic Delivery: Manage the full project lifecycle using both Waterfall and Agile (Scrum) methodologies, handling planning, risk mitigation, resource allocation, and executive-level stakeholder communication.
3. Business Analysis & Consulting: Act as a key liaison to elicit and translate complex business requirements into high-value technical AI use cases. Conduct feasibility studies and ROI analysis, documenting findings in BRDs, FRDs, and user stories.
4. Solution Integration: Design and implement seamless integrations of AI capabilities (LLMs, RAG, Agents) into existing banking applications, driving legacy modernization initiatives.
5. Quality & Compliance: Lead troubleshooting efforts to resolve complex technical issues and ensure all solutions comply with HKMA regulations, data security standards, and anti-money laundering (AML) protocols.
6. Innovation & Mentorship: Stay ahead of the AI curve in LLMs, Generative AI, and automation. Provide technical guidance, conduct code reviews, and mentor junior team members to elevate overall engineering excellence.

Required Qualifications & Experience

1. Industry Experience: 5+ years of system development experience in large-scale AI environments, with a minimum of 3 years specifically within the banking or financial services sector.
2. Project Management: Proven track record of managing complex projects using Agile/Scrum or Waterfall, with proficiency in tools like JIRA, Confluence, or MS Project.
3. Business Analysis: Demonstrated expertise in requirement gathering workshops, gap analysis, business process modeling, and translating technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
4. Core AI Proficiency: Strong command of machine learning algorithms, deep learning principles, and hands-on experience with frameworks such as TensorFlow and PyTorch.
5. LLM & GenAI Expertise: Deep knowledge of the current AI ecosystem, including Prompt Engineering, RAG architecture, and AI Agents, with experience integrating models like DeepSeek, Gemini, or Qwen.
6. Cloud & Integration: Solid experience with cloud platforms (AWS or AliCloud) and a strong ability to integrate AI services into microservices or legacy applications.
7. Programming: Robust programming background with proficiency inPython andJava .
8. Compliance Knowledge: Sound understanding of HKMA regulatory requirements, data security protocols, and AML compliance as they pertain to system design and development.

Preferred Skills

1. Proven experience inLegacy Modernization using Generative AI or Spec Coding tools.
2. Experience working with Large Action Models (LAMs) or Multi-Agent systems.
3. Ability to communicate effectively inCantonese (written/spoken) is a plus.
