Within Retail Banking and Wealth Management, Broking Services provides full investment services in stocks, bonds, currencies, precious metals, commodities and derivatives to retail, corporate customers and financial intermediaries. As a leading full service broker dealer in Hong Kong, our investment services include advisory, execution, risk and portfolio management, custodianship, and margin financing.

We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as Senior Business Management Manager.

Principal responsibilities

  • Manage and drive the Business Management function for developing and managing strategic initiatives, controls, procedures and workflow in relation to business priorities for Broking Services
  • Lead the end to end implementation and maintenance of the new robust sales suitability framework, with the establishment of enhanced oversight and continual adherence of up to date regulatory, compliance, internal and Global Standard requirements, which leads towards the fostering of a sustainable culture of suitability and optimised sales productivity
  • Design and drive business initiatives or reviews based on agreed action plans, supporting and monitoring actions taken. Reviews depend on business areas but could include reviews relating to costs, efficiency, process or system improvements and highlight key issues or risks or dependencies to senior management in a timely manner
  • Ensure that all policies, procedures and appropriate supporting tools are in place to support the business, with overall compliance of regulatory and internal control requirements while managing the end to end implementation of dedicated strategies initiatives
  • Be responsible for the timely reporting and escalation of issues identified from the aforementioned control processes


Qualifications
Requirements
  • University degree in Business, Finance or related discipline
  • Relevant professional qualification, such as Chartered Financial Analyst, Certified Financial Planner, Financial Risk Manager or equivalent advantageous
  • Experience of the HSBC Group, its culture, policies and procedures, or similar global organisations
  • Strong knowledge of broking products and services essential
  • Excellent understanding of leading practices or processes or trends in finance
  • Solid communication, good negotiating and interpersonal skills
  • Understanding of issues and challenges presented by the changing regulatory environment
  • Ability to work independently under tight timeline
  • Strong people manager, able to lead teams and develop others
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
