As part of Global Risk, Regulatory Compliance ensures adherence to applicable regulations and standards by setting the policies which cover HSBC's regulatory requirements, and mitigate conduct and reputational risk issues. The team strives to remain ahead of the regulatory change agenda and ensures the business understands the implications and is prepared for change. It monitors how the Global Businesses and Functions manage their responsibilities with regard to complying with the regulations and helps resolve compliance deficiencies.

We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as Senior Business Manager, Asia Pacific, Regulatory Compliance.

Principal responsibilities

  • Assist with the implementing a consistent and effective approach to Consultancy, invoicing, location strategy and adhoc administrative duties across the functional and line of Business areas.
  • Identify and implement best practice across the organisation to enable the highest operational standards.
  • Co-ordinate the COO or CAO requirements across the Functional and Regional teams to meet global or regional processes and deadlines.
  • Define and adopt best practice through collaborating with our key business partners, for example Finance, Human Resources, Communications, Procurement
  • Assist with the definition and implementation of the Global or Regional Regulatory Compliance communications plan in conjunction with the Global Communications team
  • Liaise and work closely with Business Partner teams globally and regionally to implement initiatives within Regulatory Compliance
  • Build relationships, adopting a joined up approach, to execute processes at pace and with minimum conflict
  • Ensure that internal and external regulatory requirements are met
  • Ensure that the business operates using accepted industry, standard methodologies, practices, processes and principles
  • Ensure innovation and improvement of methodologies, through adoption of best practice and continued professional development and ensure these meet required standards and regulations
  • Work with our Regulatory compliance counterparts and Business Partner teams to ensure delivery of initiatives

Requirements
  • Excellent collaboration and communication abilities to effectively work with other colleagues and stakeholders within the bank.
  • Attention to detail and ability to ensure that information is captured in a timely manner.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • Advanced IT skills including Excel, Powerpoint and Word.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Proactive and resilient in a dynamic and constantly changing international environment.
  • Committed to personal and professional development.
  • Able to work independently, proactively and under pressure against multiple deadlines
  • University graduate, preferable.
  • Understanding of HSBC Group and its strategy.
  • Awareness and understanding of HSBC's internal control and operational risk environment.
  • Previous background of working in a matrix organisational structure.
  • Demonstrated ability to distil complex and varied data into information.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing customer and stakeholder issues in an international context.
  • Proven experience of supporting operational management or business management in a similar type of role
  • Proven leadership capabilities.
