We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as Senior Communications Manager, Retail Banking and Wealth Management.

Principal responsibilities

  • ​Manage and mitigate arising issues by building strong relationships with business stakeholders to ensure early warning and sharing of information.
  • Use media measurement to inform and guide media activity
  • Strict adherence to the global Media Relations Governance Policy using insight to drive discussions and communications planning
  • Using insight from HSBC's internal measurement, including Snapshot, Exchange, Global People Survey to develop and advise on employee communications that address strategic objectives and specific audiences
  • Deliver global employee campaigns locally, ensuring appropriate use of channels and language for target audience
  • Support culture and business change that encourages behaviours that reflect our values, supports HSBC's strategy
  • Utilise research and develop insights to provide communications counsel and help inform Country ExCo debate, decision making and strategy
  • Successful delivery of positive media coverage for global campaigns and priorities relevant to business units strategy
  • Timely and effective response to arising issues.


Qualifications
Requirements
  • University degree in related discipline
  • Proven track record and strong communications experience and understanding of the financial sector, media enviroment and culture
  • ​Broad, expert knowledge of communications trends and international best practice
  • Proven ability to operate within a global matrix and prioritise competing demands
  • Proven ability to align to a global strategy, whilst maintaining an awareness of local sensitivities and nuance
  • Strong storytelling and presentation skills and ability to produce clear, engaging narrative
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and personal presence and credibility with senior stakeholders.
  • Strategic planning and project management skills
  • Proven ability to deal with ambiguity and pressurised situations
  • Proven crisis management skills.
