Financial Crime Risk is a Global Function that brings together all areas of financial crime risk management at HSBC and is dedicated to implementing the most effective global standards to combat financial crime. The function has been set up in a way that enables us to build on our achievements in managing financial crime risk effectively across the bank and continue to strengthen financial crime detection, anti-money laundering, sanctions and anti-bribery and corruption compliance.

We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as Senior Financial Crime Compliance Transaction Monitoring Manager.

Principal responsibilities

  • Recommend changes and improvements to operating models, procedures and practices based on subject matter expertise and understanding of HSBC and market best practice for Transaction Monitoring
  • Promotes Transaction Monitoring Anti Money Laundering governance, risk architecture, support reporting and communication, delivered through the TM AML team with support from other stakeholders
  • Review and constructively challenge TM project and workstream status reports produced by the Transformation Team
  • Captures key lessons learnt from Countries and Change Activities and ensure that these are taken onboard by the Regional TM function to drive the continuous improvement of AML TM Programme
  • Maintain awareness of operational risk within assigned portfolio and minimise the likelihood of it occurring including its identification, assessment, mitigation and control, loss identification and reporting
  • Maintain and observe all HSBC control standards and implement and observe the Group Compliance Policy, including the timely implementation of recommendations made by internal and external auditors and external regulators


Qualifications
Requirements
  • Seasoned professional with direct experience of Anti Money Laundering
  • Extensive working knowledge of all aspects of Transaction Monitoring controls at both strategic and operational level, gained within large financial banks
  • Strong experience of working with large scale TM transformation initiatives that have delivered multiple changes and improvements to TM controls, including but not limited to upgrades and new systems, deployment of monitoring to new lines of business, product areas etc.
  • Strong understanding of how TM control mitigates Financial Crime Compliance Risk and the various underpinning activities forming the TM programme
  • Proficient knowledge of AML and Counter Terrorist Financing issues across the financial services industry
  • Excellent oral, written communication and presentation skills, inter personal skills and dealing with executives at all levels
  • Proven ability to confidently work with and influence senior stakeholders and business sponsors.
  • Proven ability to work across lines of business and regions whilst maintaining a global perspective
  • Very strong analytical, decision making, lateral thinking skills, with demonstrated ability to identify links between programmes of work
  • Experience in leading and managing a team in a complex matrixed environment
