Financial Crime Risk is a Global Function that brings together all areas of financial crime risk management at HSBC and is dedicated to implementing the most effective global standards to combat financial crime. The function has been set up in a way that enables us to build on our achievements in managing financial crime risk effectively across the bank and continue to strengthen financial crime detection, anti-money laundering, sanctions and anti-bribery and corruption compliance.

We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as Senior Financial Crime Risk Analytics Manager.

Principal responsibilities

  • Responsible for models and analytic controls, this will include design, development, implementation, optimisation and validation.
  • Establish and assure the global standards for relevant models and analytics adhere to HSBC model governance and regulatory demand.
  • Provision of analytics to identify new risk trends and risks and recommend model or control amendments to address
  • Promote a culture of data driven decision making, aligning short term decisions and investments with longer term vision and objectives
  • Advise business and senior leaders on regulatory and risk management issues related to applicable models and analytics
  • Support achievement of the HSBC vision, Values, goals and culture in personal behaviour, actions and decision making
  • Provide technical leadership and support technical excellence by searching out external best practice, monitoring technical and professional developments, sharing knowledge and encouraging others to do the same in the best interests of HSBC and its customers

  • ​University graduate with some years of proven and progressive experience in an analytical role, preferably in a financial institution, or other control related experience such as risk management, audit, examination
  • Project management and business analysis skills, while not absolutely required, are desirable.
  • Good understanding of Financial Crime Compliance regulatory landscape and the related risk governance in a large financial institution, ideally previous experience in a Financial Crime Compliance related function
  • Strong analytical and statistical skills with the ability to organize and analyse multiple, complex data sets, to draw clear business conclusions and present them clearly to non-scientific stakeholders
