We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as Senior Partnership Operation Manager.

Principal responsibilities

  • Implementing and optimising the operating model to deliver the partnerships strategy
  • Overseeing the organisational design for the team and defining roles and responsibilities to create clear accountability of stakeholders throughout the Digital Ecosystem within HSBC and vendors
  • Driving the alignment of processes and deliverables both within partnerships and across HSBC Functions in Asia Pacific
  • Driving the implementation of the different teams within partnerships, including resourcing demands, skill identification, and resource allocation
  • Responsible for driving the people agenda and role modelling the HSBC values
  • Work globally and regionally with the Digital Chief Operation Officer leadership team in providing a globally harmonious approach on operational activities
  • Implement the strategy and drive Asia Pacific Digital Retail Banking and Wealth Management towards its desired operating model, ensuring the model is maintained
  • Coordination, agreement and implementation of strategic plans for Partnerships. This includes rolling operation plans and cost saving targets
  • Monitors financial performance by analysing and managing direct and indirect costs, driving streamlining and cost saving initiatives, overseeing order book spend, understanding and challenging Global Functions and recharges as applicable, and initiating corrective actions to minimise impact of cost variances
  • Build strong relationships, adopting a joined up approach to execute change at pace with minimum conflict
  • Conducting and strengthening stakeholder engagement across business functions whilst representing business stakeholder strategic priorities, communicating to senior executives to ensure value of the partnership is understood and realised and priorities executed.
  • Be an effective team player through communication, performance management, development plans and reward or recognition practices
  • Cultivate an environment that supports diversity and reflects the HSBC brand
  • Drives collaboration within the Regional and Global digital propositions
  • Engage various stakeholders required to mobilize the execution strategy and implementation plans
  • Agree responsibilities within formal and informal network, providing context, direction and confidence to deliver results
  • Ensure effective governance structures are in place to enable oversight, control and monitoring of strategy execution and implementation plans change governance
  • Identify current and emerging risks related to changes to services, processes and systems, across all functions
  • Implement global risk and control standards for Retail Banking and Wealth Managment and drive the implementation of these through the Business Risk and Control Management network
  • Partner with Retail Banking and Wealth Management and HSBC Operations Services and Technology Leadership Teams to identify, measure, mitigate, monitor and report risk and ensure consistency across functions
  • Facilitate the execution of the three Lines of Defence model by ensuring audits are planned, executed and reported effectively, working across functions where appropriate
  • Identify and execute on opportunities to drive streamlining projects, resulting in simplifying processes and or sustainable saves.
  • Apply external market knowledge and benchmarks and internal benchmarks and insights to identify opportunities to improve performance and practices

  • Demonstrated ability in defining and executing digital ideas, with clear examples of delivery in a digital environment
  • Practical experience of major business transformation with global project management experience
  • Experience leading strategy and operations projects at a top-tier consulting firm or in a corporate strategy or operations team is preferred
  • Possess strong people leadership, team working, gathering information and analysis, judgment and decision making competencies
  • Ability to manage and mitigate digital and operational risk effectively
  • Experience of managing within a complex matrix environment and across cultures
  • Understanding of the HSBC Group and its strategy, structures and processes
  • Knowledge of the external environment, regulatory, political, competitor and market
  • Knowledge of Retail Banking and Wealth Management functionally, operationally and financially
  • Excellent communication skills in English, Chinese, both written and verbal
