The User Experience (UX) Researcher will report to the Director, HCD. The position's primary role is to manage and run a robust user research process that answers the right questions at the right time and in the right way.

We are looking for a candidate who can design, execute, and communicate qualitative and quantitative research to drive decision-making throughout the development life cycle. In addition, we expect the successful candidate to be a regional advocate for rigorous and independent user research.

We are looking for someone with:

Technical capabilities:
  • 5-10 years of relevant user research experience. Financial services experience would be an advantage.
  • Able to demonstrate triangulated research, appropriately leveraging qualitative and quantitative methods at all stages of the design cycle.
  • Solid experience interpreting and incorporating behavioural analytics.
  • Experience working in an Agile design & development environment.
  • A record of presenting robust, unbiased research that answers the right questions at the right time, driving positive outcomes.
  • The ability to act both strategically and digitally is essential. The successful candidate understands how the digital economy is changing user behaviour and the insurance landscape.
Communication skills:
  • Excellent communication and persuasive skills are required, with the ability to communicate and collaborate effectively across organisational levels.
  • Excellent command of spoken and written English are essential.
  • Additional languages such as Bahasa, Vietnamese, Tagalog, Khmer, Japanese, Mandarin, or Cantonese would be advantageous.
  • Bachelors/Masters in Human Factors, Psychology, Research or a related field.
  • A recognized HCD certification would be an advantage. LUMA certified Practitioner or Instructor preferred.
On the job you will:
  • Provide hands-on, ongoing research support for multiyear, multi-country transformation projects.
  • Plan and execute research studies end-to-end and across our Asia markets, including:
    • Articulating research questions and matching with appropriate research methods
    • Crafting research plans and guides
    • Managing the user recruiting process
    • Moderating or managing the moderation of studies
    • Analyzing and synthesizing findings into clear, concise insights and recommendations
  • Triangulate research synthesizing data from both qualitative and quantitative sources.
  • Apply a variety of user research methods appropriate for answering the critical research questions such as:
    • Surveying
    • Exploratory research: Jobs-to-be-done interviews, Contextual Enquiry etc.
    • Early design tests, e.g. Card Sorts, Tree Tests, etc.
    • Concept validation
    • Remote moderated/unmoderated testing
    • A/B tests and analytics review
  • Work with other HCD practitioners, including UX/UI designers, Service Designers and other business stakeholders, to advocate for and elevate the craft of user research, ensuring rigour and impartiality.
  • Collaborate, support, guide and train market teams in user research best practices.
