Position Description

Tax EPO, as part of the international expansion efforts is building governance for international taxes (client and bank levied taxes) for all jurisdictions the bank operates in.

The role will support increasing complexity and volume in business; will work directly with front line units (FLU) and related Corporate Tax, Operations and Finance partners as a central point of contact to drive proactive oversight, monitoring and compliance with applicable U.S. and International tax requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintaining understanding and oversight of end-to-end tax related processes within region
  • Maintaining strong relationships with process owners
  • Ensuring FLUs have implemented effective processes and controls related to compliance with applicable tax law and standards
  • Testing the effectiveness of key controls against standard
  • Reporting and escalating internal and third party tax related risks and staying on top of status of FLU/partner mitigation and action plans
  • Establishing effective management routines to drive accountability
  • Aggregating and reviewing results of QA and other performance measures
  • Providing monitoring and oversight of regulatory and audit issues, and
  • Reviewing new business initiatives and products from a tax perspective, ensuring appropriate controls are built in up front to assure compliance.
  • Region specific corporate taxation experience required.
  • Financial services and/or public accounting experience.
  • Ability to work across broad tax requirements relevant to the financial services industry
  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines within a fast paced, changing environment
  • Ability to work well within a team and independently as well
  • Strong interpersonal/communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
