Global Risk is a thriving and expert risk management function supporting HSBC globally with all aspects of risk management. The team actively manages a varied and dynamic range of risk types, including security, fraud, information security, contingency, geopolitical, operational, credit, pension, insurance, financial crime and regulatory compliance, market and reputation risks. All parts of the Global Risk team use their skills, insight and integrity to handle established threats and those they see emerging, acting to protect and enable HSBC to deliver sustainable growth.

We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as Traded Risk Analysis Manager.

Principal responsibilities

  • Implement new Stress Testing scenarios in a timely and successful manner.
  • Promote greater understanding of Stress Testing concepts, procedures and results among front office staff and support staff.
  • Engage with regulators and internal or external auditors to satisfy questions and requests as part of formal and informal reviews.
  • Supporting market and traded credit risk stress testing related exercises
  • Support the development and implementation of stress tests for Traded risk
  • Understand regulatory and business requirements, ensuring that the stress tests are fit for purpose
  • Run internal and regulatory stress tests in a timely and successful manner.
  • Conduct analysis and provide commentary on the results of stress tests.
  • Engage in the Stress test projects such as business requirement, UAT, et etcera
  • Calibrate and update stress scenarios on market variables from macro variables.
  • Promote greater understanding of Stress Testing concepts, procedures and results to stakeholders
  • Engage with regulators, internal and external auditors to satisfy questions and requests.
  • Participate in ad hoc stress tests for market events

  • At least with a bachelors degree in Finance or Risk management or relevant quantitative discipline.
  • Good amount of years experience in banking, preferable in product control and or risk management for market risk and or traded credit risk.
  • Relevant professional body qualification, for example CFA, FRM, is desirable.
  • Strong knowledge in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint. Experience of using Microsoft Assess is preferred.
  • Good senses and understanding of macro economics, financial markets and financial products.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills combined with good accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Self motivated and ability to work independently and meet tight timelines.
  • Preferably experience in stakeholder management and project management is a plus
