VP - Financial Engineer / Structurer (Cross Asset), Asia

Global Banking & Investor Solutions is the Corporate and Investment Banking arm of the Société Générale Group. Present in over 50 countries across Europe, the Americas and Asia, GBIS provides services in corporate and investment banking, asset management, private banking and securities around the world. GBIS offers to its clients integrated and tailored solutions to respond to their specific needs.

We are looking for someone to join our team of experienced individuals in structuring, to look after our distribution activity and our issuance vehicles across Asia Pacific.


Main Responsibilities:

  • The development and monitoring of our issuance vehicles for Asia pacific, including SPVs
  • Acting as a focal point for product all documentation matters in Asia Pacific
  • The development of our distribution franchise in APAC ex Japan via the supply of innovative solutions, the development of new solutions, the opening of new markets.
  • Design platforms, solutions, products, services and tools for clients, within the accounting and regulatory/prudential angles for both SG and clients.
  • Ensure solutions are sufficiently pushed towards clients, coordinating with sales.
  • Ensure that transactions are lawful and compliant with SG business principles and SG internal rules (including, but not limited to rules defined in the Engineering Handbook)
  • Ensure scarce resources are properly used (liquidity, balance-sheet etc.) and minimum profitability requirements are reached.
  • Ensure that the after-sale services (valuation, secondary market) will be properly delivered to clients
  • Coordinate settlement (booking, accounting, payment)
  • Review documentation in accordance with SG internal standards



  • Knowledge of cross border legal, accounting and regulatory issues
  • Previous experience of working in-house in either an investment bank or other relevant financial services environment, including experience in working with different internal departments and functions and ability to work on the trading floor
  • Demonstrable ability to deal with work promptly, accurately and in conformity with the internal guidelines of the Corporate and Investment Banking Division;
  • A proven ability to exercise prudent commercial judgement while managing legal risk.
  • Understand/learn the financial, legal, regulatory and fiscal problems relating to the structuring and sale of structured products;
  • Have or is able to complete a good knowledge of the different asset class products (credit, fixed income, forex, equities, commodities, indices…) and structures/wrappers commonly used (e.g. SPVs, OTCs, funds)
  • Proven analytical, computer and interpersonal skills as well as exceptional writing, communication and presentation skills are required;
  • Flexible, organized and pragmatic, you have excellent analytical skills and a creative and curious mind. Learn fast different subjects for which you may not be a specialist. Your relationship skills and your team spirit will be major assets in a demanding international environment.
  • You have the ability to lead and conduct new projects from definitions to final launch leading and collaborating with other department of the banks. You have interfaced with clients to finalize trades.
  • Previous experience in structured investment solutions, on a cross asset basis
  • Ability to work in a fast paced and challenging environment
  • With strong knowledge (or are eager to develop it) in issuance vehicles, including the use and structuring of special purpose vehicle
  • Able to coordinate and own the delivery of projects, coordinating efficiently with different part of the bank, including support functions
  • Possess a curious and open mind, combined with a rigorous approach to project management and implementation
