Our client is a leading Private Bank with a well-established Private Banking franchise across Asia. As part of its continued business growth and focus on risk excellence, the bank is seeking an experienced Operational Risk leader to support and strengthen the risk management framework across its Hong Kong and Singapore businesses. Private banking operations in Hong Kong and Singapore continue to play a significant role within Asia's wealth management landscape.

Your new role
You will lead the Operational Risk function supporting the Private Banking business across Hong Kong and Singapore.
Key responsibilities include:

• Provide independent oversight and challenge of operational risks across Private Banking activities
• Develop and maintain the operational risk management framework, policies and governance standards
• Oversee Risk & Control Self-Assessments (RCSA), scenario analysis, risk appetite monitoring and key risk indicators
• Review new products, business initiatives and strategic projects from a risk perspective
• Assess operational risk events, incidents and root cause analysis, ensuring appropriate remediation actions are implemented
• Monitor outsourcing, third-party, conduct, technology and operational resilience risks
• Lead regulatory engagements, audits and reviews relating to operational risk matters
• Partner with Business, Compliance, Technology, Legal and Internal Audit stakeholders across Hong Kong and Singapore
• Drive risk culture initiatives and promote strong first-line ownership of risks and controls
• Produce risk reporting and management information for senior management committees

What you'll need to succeed

• Degree holder in Finance, Business, Risk Management or related discipline
• 10+ years of Operational Risk experience within private banking, wealth management or financial services
• Strong understanding of operational risk frameworks, governance and regulatory requirements
• Experience covering areas including conduct risk, non-financial risk, operational resilience and third-party risk
• Proven stakeholder management capability with senior business leaders and regulators
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills
• Relevant qualifications such as FRM, PRM, CIA or equivalent would be advantageous
• Fluency in English is required; Cantonese and/or Mandarin would be beneficial
