The Data Strategy & Information Delivery Group is part of the Wealth Management Analytics & Data Organization at Morgan Stanley. The team’s responsibility is to support Wealth Managements strategic objectives through the use and exploitation of its data and analytical assets. Key focus areas will be in support of organic growth through the digitation and delivery of investment advice; partnering with each business area by providing them the tools, expertise, and support for them to understand and analyze their own data; and to make data and analytics a differentiated capability for the firm.


· Develop, build and deploy data models as output views to meet business partners’ expectations and requirements

· Partner with data visualization and data science teams to design business specific models

· Provide data blending related maintenance, troubleshooting, & problem resolution

· Oversee the flow of information between departments through the use of relational databases

· Document data blending related work instructions

· Devise or modify procedures to solve complex problems considering capacity and limitations, operating time, and desired results

· Responsible to work independently or participate in small to mid-size projects completing complex work requests under minimal guidance

· Utilize proactive problem-solving to address challenges and functional concerns

· Share technical and business expertise with other team members and business partners

· Meet agreed upon processing timelines and service level agreements

· Demonstrate flexible analytical mindset to absorb and build on the ideas of team members and clients


Required Skills:

· Strong knowledge of SQL

· Strong analytical and problem solving experience

· 2-5 years of related experience

· Bachelor’s Degree in Technical field with Business/Economics background or vice versa

· Experience in Data Architecture and Database design patterns

· Ability to independently own database development and decisions, balancing demands and deadlines

Desired Skills

· Good understanding of any of these database technologies: Oracle, SQL Server, DB2, Teradata, Hadoop

· Experience in using tools such as Alpine Data Chorus, Dataiku, Tableau, QlikView or SpotFire

· Background in the Financial Services Industry
