The Budapest FID IRD (Fixed Income, Interest Rate Derivatives) team is looking for a desk facing Scala / Java developer to work in the global Rates organization, delivering projects to various fixed income desks (swaps, options, inflation, EM, FX, etc.) and downstream users like the Market Risk Department or the Federated Risk1 teams.
A variety of technologies are used within the team, such as Scala, Java or C++, also including A+, which is Morgan Stanley's APL-based functional programming language. Scripting languages, web and DB tools and are also part of the toolkits developers rely on a daily basis. Projects and business areas cover mainly desk-facing development: pricing, risk calculation, market data management and trading tools, but it also includes regulatory and internal reporting work.
You should have a strong working knowledge in one or more of the above mentioned programming languages, and would show interest in learning both new technologies and business concepts in the FID Rates world. The key to this role is to understand business problems and provide strategic solutions for various desks and user groups
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Strong knowledge of programming concepts and practical knowledge of a programming language (i.e. Java, Scala, C++ or C#)
- Experience with Windows and Linux/Unix systems, databases (SQL), data structures, algorithms, and scripting technologies
- Interest in financial products and fixed income business concepts
- Good communication skills in English
