Finance - India Tax - Associate - Bengaluru

The Tax Department at Goldman Sachs ensures the firm's compliance with the tax laws of those countries (and local jurisdictions) in which the firm conducts business. The Tax Department assists businesses in managing tax risk.

Key Tax functions include:

  • Providing tax information for the firm's financial statements;
  • Preparing/supervising the preparation of U.S. federal, state, local and non-U.S. tax returns for the firm as well as for GSAM and Merchant Banking investment vehicles;
  • Advising the firm's professionals on the tax implications related to the firm's businesses and/or transactions undertaken by or for the firm.


The role involves coverage of India direct and indirect tax matters (including transfer pricing), compliance and audit defense matters covering all our India entities, working closely with the local Tax and Controllers teams in the region.

The candidate's role will include:
  • Direct and Indirect tax Advisory (sectors covered are IT/ITES and Financial Services)
  • Ensuring compliance on all India direct and indirect tax matters (including transfer pricing documentation) requirements
  • Assisting in preparation of audit defense documentation


1. 1-2 years post qualification India tax experience including transfer pricing experience
2. Good communication skills
