Practice Support Analyst
Job Description

The candidate will be responsible to work with a dedicated advisor/ a team of financial advisors and staff to help provide outstanding service to our clients. It will assist in managing and organizing office workflow with an emphasis on creating and delivering a unique client experience that defines and differentiates advisors' practices. This position will consistently follow high standards of business and professional ethics and legal and regulatory requirements when dealing with others and/or performing work activities. The person should have experience and/ or interest in financial planning and investment management related advice areas. We are looking for someone who has the desire to create something new and exciting to drive future growth for Ameriprise Financial.


  • Under the direction of the senior leaders/ mentors, perform and enhance back office functions and processes, including but not limited to:
  • Receive client data from US team and/or Advisor
  • Review client data received for completeness and accuracy
  • Enter client data into planning application
  • Prepopulate forms/ reports basis the entered data and understand what is the analysis saying
  • Prepare draft proposal for the team to review and approve
  • Update plan report based on feedback received
  • Track workflow and progress to keep cases moving
  • Ensure cases are closed and documentation recorded as appropriate
  • Partner closely across the team and others across the enterprise as needed
  • Partner with the team to refine processes and workflow to build operational efficiencies
  • Connect with product experts to expand knowledge of key retirement income strategies; probe and ask informed questions to drive productive conversations and outcomes
  • Partner with team to work through escalations to ensure best-in-class service to advisors and clients
  • Work closely with US team to input and analyze financial data, may include partnering with other product/investment experts across Enterprise (e.g. advisory, retirement, alternatives, insurance, annuities, etc.)

Required Qualifications

  • Willing to work evening hours: 8:00 pm to 4:30 am (9:30am to 6pm CST)
  • Graduate in finance discipline (0- 1year experience or 1year diploma is preferred)
  • Good communication skills
  • Basic understanding of MS power point, MS Excel and MS Word
  • Exposure to financial products like mutual funds, insurance, retirement services, etc. would be an added advantage
  • Must have an eye to detail with high accuracy levels
  • Ability to meet strict timelines per the agreed SLAs for advisor practices

Preferred Qualifications

  • Retirement plans, Retirement income and defined benefit plans experience
