Senior Accountant (Revenue Accounting)

Location: Gurgaon, Haryana, India

Responsibilities:
• Prepare account reconciliations and detailed analysis to support balance sheet accounts (i.e., accounts receivable, unbilled receivables, deferred revenue); identify and resolve variances
• Reconcile sub-ledger systems to the general ledger
• Analyze revenue and deferred revenue activity
• Understand billing practices for each line of business
• Be familiar with revenue accounting standards (i.e., ASC 606), US GAAP and SOX
• Recommend improvements to the existing workflow and implement approved changes
• Provide support on ad hoc projects including testing and documentation of current and new systems
• Liaise with international offices to obtain general ledger information processed locally
• Troubleshoot issues that arise in the department
• Keep informed on issues that will impact billing, accounts receivable and revenue recognition processes
• Understand and ensure compliance with internal controls and Moody's accounting policies with respect to their procedures
• Additional duties / special projects as assigned by your manager

Global MIS Revenue Accounting

Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting / Finance required
• 5+ years related experience
• Public accounting experience is preferred
• Commenced or seeking professional qualifications is preferred
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
• Knowledge of PeopleSoft financial system is a plus but not necessary
• Able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and perform in a quick paced environment
• Strong organizational, analytical and problem solving skills and attention to details are a must
• Competent written and verbal communication skills
