Our client is one of Ireland's most established charitable organisations, with a rich history spanning many decades. They are seeking to appoint an experienced Accounting Technician to join their Finance team at their Dublin 2 headquarters and role will be office based. Reporting to the Financial Controller, the Accounting Technician will provide comprehensive support across all aspects of the finance function, ensuring financial transactions are processed accurately, records are maintained to a high standard, and internal controls are adhered to. Role Responsibilities
- Process supplier invoices and maintain the purchase ledger.
- Prepare supplier payment runs and reconcile supplier statements.
- Raise sales invoices and allocate customer receipts.
- Process daily banking transactions and complete regular bank reconciliations.
- Prepare journals and assist with general ledger maintenance.
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations.
- Support the annual external audit by preparing schedules and documentation.
- Ensure compliance with organisational policies, financial procedures and relevant regulatory requirements.
- Respond to finance-related queries from internal and external stakeholders.
- Undertake other duties appropriate to the role as required.
Candidate Requirements
- Accounting Technician qualification (ATI) or equivalent finance qualification.
- Minimum of 2-3 years' experience in a finance or accounting role.
- Excellent attention to detail and a high level of numerical accuracy.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities.
- A professional, collaborative approach with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Previous experience working within the charity, not-for-profit or public sector desirable.
