A junior Compliance Specialist required to work closely with the larger compliance team to provide business support to the regulatory obligations across the various banking channels. The Compliance Specialist will provide advice and support on conduct of business and regulatory matters to management and staff working in these areas.

The Role:


  • Provide input into new product initiatives and distribution plans to assess the potential compliance risks and challenges
  • Assist in completing Regulatory Risk Assessments on new product/ service initiatives
  • Participate in Bank projects and remediation exercises to ensure regulatory requirements are considered
  • Provide conduct of business compliance advice, guidance and sign off to assigned business areas as required
  • Build and manage effective relationships with Bank management and staff through effective and efficient communication
  • Provide assistance to Conduct of Business senior management in reporting on the state of compliance to the Bank’s management including the input into monthly reports to Senior Management and the Board
  • Keep up to date on all relevant legislative and regulatory developments and analyse the impact on the Bank Provide advice/ guidance to the business to aid with implementation
  • Continuously monitor for compliance awareness & understanding and implement/ suggest improvements where gaps are identified
  • Support the development and delivery of compliance education and training programmes
  • Ensure all responsibilities assigned by management are completed in a professional and timely manner
  • Be committed to continuing professional and personal development


The person:

  • At least 3 years’ experience within a Compliance relevant function
  • An understanding of regulatory risks across the banking industry
  • LCOI designation or other relevant qualification (e.g. legal). If the successful applicant does not hold the LCOI designation they will be expected to obtain this as part of the role
  • Good interpersonal skills to work effectively with a range of stakeholders
  • Be highly motivated and possess strong commercial awareness
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • An analytical approach with an attention for detail
  • MS Office – Word; Excel; PowerPoint – working knowledge on all
