Enterprise Data Architect
Role Profile
Mediolanum is looking for a smart and enthusiastic Enterprise Data Architect, with a focus on Data and Application Architecture to join its expanding team. This position will focus on the architectural considerations and standards for the ongoing development and enhancements to our enterprise data warehouse, in addition to our enhanced application landscape. The role will also require strong data analytics, data management, business process and business intelligence skills with excellent analytics and problem-solving abilities

It will involve working with the Mediolanum business teams to understand its goals/strategy and to identify and define solutions from a Data and Application architecture perspective to support the business in meeting its goals.

Duties
• Support the development, enhancement and documentation of Enterprise Data Warehouse development standards and architecture principles to ensure alignment to leading practice
• Develop and maintain end-to-end architectural and process documentation of our key applications, processes and data flows
• Help maintain the integrity and security of the organisations database and application assets
• Work with business users and Head of Data Governance to support the continued enhancement and delivery of data governance structures supported by technology
• Build a deep understanding of the underlying data models and data structures in our Enterprise Data Warehouse and how they can be optimised for continued value for the business
• Conduct design reviews for planned analytics and reporting developments with the Enterprise Data Warehouse development team
• Aid in the development of business processes and policies to support and manage the data reporting environment
• Monitor the system performance and efficiency by conducting regular checks and review of the Enterprise Data Warehouse, its batch, controls and operational processes
• Educate members off staff on our data and application assets through training and individual support
• Conduct research on IT solutions to support the business in meeting it strategic goals from a Data and application architecture perspective
• Support the gathering, assessment and documentation of end-user requirements for analytical and ad-hoc reporting solutions (Agile Methodology)
• Work closely with peers on implementing best-practice techniques with respect to management of data in our EDW
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
• Determines changes in physical database by studying project requirements; identifying database characteristics, such as location, amount of space, and access method

• In depth understanding of database structures and principles, particularly in relation to Enterprise Data Warehouses

Qualifications & Experience
• 10+ years professional experience
• Financial Services experience specifically capital markets or Funds industry
• Proven experience as a Data Architect, Enterprise Architect, Data Scientist, Data Analyst or similar role
• Experience with Cognos or Qlik Sense reporting would be a distinct advantage
• Experience with Microsoft SSIS (integration services) and SQL distinct advantage
• Knowledge of RDBMS and dimensional data modelling
• Knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodologies (Agile methodology experience preferable)
• Knowledge of data, master data and metadata related standards, processes and technologies
• Experience in identifying and defining requirements and turning into functional requirements that addresses difficult analytical challenges
• Experience in solving data analytics problems and effectively communicating results and methodologies
• Hold a relevant primary degree (2.1 or higher) in mathematics, statistics, engineering, economics or finance, and be working toward or hold a recent Masters in a related discipline
