Here at our Dublin office we have an exciting opportunity as a Global Market Risk Manager available for a talented individual.

You will be responsible for monitoring risk positions and for performing quantitative and qualitative analysis of all material positions and risks. You will assess risk, and report these findings to both Risk Management and the business regionally and globally.

You will be responsible for monitoring and understanding regulations including Internal Model Approach (IMA) requirements.

What will your main responsibilities involve?

  • Provide interpretation, guidance and advice on applicable regulations for Market Risk
  • The role will interact with key regulators, including the CBI, ECB, FRB and OCC, as well as regulators of individual local branches
  • Responsible for communicating key Regulatory risks to the Head of Market Risk
  • Tracking the development of regulations and regulatory expectations applicable to Market Risk in the Legal Entity, with a particular emphasis on understanding rules applicable to IMA
  • Technical knowledge of IMA methodology for Value at Risk, Stressed Value at Risk, Incremental Risk Charge, Comprehensive Risk Measure and Risks Not in Model
  • Support the Head of Market Risk in the IMA approval application and provide regular and ad hoc reporting, as required
  • Assist with ensuring support from internal stakeholders of Internal Models, such as Global Risk Analytics and Model Risk Management
  • Understanding of reporting for Legal Entity market risk in light of regulatory requirements
  • Provide expertise and guidance on market risk regulations applicable to ICAAP
  • Coordinate and manage initiatives and ad hoc projects

What skills and qualifications will you ideally possess?

Essential Skills:
  • Market Risk or front office experience with a good understanding of key risk metrics such as VaR, Stress testing etc.
  • Knowledge of IMA methodology and calculations for VaR, SVaR, IRC, CRM and RNiV/RNiMs
  • Excellent quantitative skills
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Excel essential, with VBA highly desirable
  • The successful candidate must be able to build excellent relationships whilst maintaining independence. He/she must be able to handle disputes, and will not shirk from enforcing difficult decisions
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and concisely with regulators, senior management and other areas of the bank understanding the requirements of each group
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritise, to meet deadlines without compromising on quality
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Motivation to deliver in challenging fast paced environment
  • The candidate must have a good balance of experience, knowledge, personal and interpersonal competencies

Desired Skills:
  • Understanding of regulatory environment affecting Finance industry and the impact on market risk
  • Solid experience working within a Market Risk team
