Our Dublin office is seeking an Operational Risk Senior Specialist to join our growing Ops Risk area. The Operational Risk VP will be responsible for supporting the oversight of operational risk, ensuring the identification, escalation and timely mitigation of operational risks.

You will partner closely with business and support function management, with support from other Operational Risk colleagues, to provide knowledgeable & impactful challenge and oversight of risk and control issues within the entity.

What will your main responsibilities involve?

  • Responsible for adherence to the Operational Risk Framework and compliance with Operational Risk regulations of the CBI and other relevant regulatory bodies.
  • Key contributor in independently assessing and ensuring the effectiveness of the Operational Risk Management Framework.
  • Providing operational risk oversight of relevant business activity within the entity and support the embedding of an effective operational risk culture within the business
  • Support the Head of Operational Risk for all operational risk matters including engagement with regulators
  • Participating and proactively provide challenge in relevant entity risk and control forums and governance routines
  • Partner with other Operational Risk teams as required for support on the execution of monitoring, assessment, testing and other Operational Risk Framework elements
  • Identifying risks and control issues and drive risk mitigation action as required
  • Providing effective challenge to the first line of defence
  • Review and challenge business KRI's and Risk Self Assessments
  • Review Operational Losses
  • Execute the Scenario Analysis programme as part of the entity operational risk capital

What skills and qualifications will you ideally possess?

Qualifications:
  • Experience in financial services risk or control roles ideally within an investment banking background

Skills:
  • Consistent record of working within a banking environment at major financial institutions
  • Ability to think and act commercially, with experience of business control, audit or risk roles
  • Good understanding of core business and products, operational framework and risk/controls
  • Solid team working and relationship management skills
  • Ability to engage with and present to senior leadership across the organisation
  • Ability to work across multiple countries in complex matrix environment

Competencies:
  • Meaningful Risk, Control or Audit experience
  • Knowledge of Bank of America's businesses, systems and controls
