What does it look like to do accounting and finance for a mobile startup whose apps have been downloaded 100M+ times? Building a multimillion-dollar business may seem a daunting task, until you do it. Here at Bending Spoons we have extremely ambitious plans and our Accounting & Finance team is the cornerstone for our strategic decisions and future growth.

A few examples of your responsibilities:

  • Perform financial modelling and data-intensive analysis with the highest standards of rigor.

  • Raise the bar of our reporting standards preparing accurate financial statements and insightful monthly reports.

  • Interact with external consultants and financial advisors to identify scaling and saving opportunities.

  • Study existing and upcoming legislation, ensure tax compliance and proactively propose improvements to our processes.

  • Take care of our accounting (especially active invoicing).

What we offer:

  • Unique career opportunity. By joining a fast-growing company that sets out to become one of the world’s greatest within the vast, booming mobile market, you get a special chance to turbo charge your learning and skyrocket your career.

  • Make a difference. Enjoy a trust and space of maneuver that few companies would grant you at your age. You’ll have a chance to be a major factor in making Bending Spoons a huge success.

  • Work with big numbers. Despite being a small team, our revenue and cost numbers are in the millions of euros. You’re not going to be doing child’s play.

  • Be coached, learn, grow. You’ll be working with serial entrepreneurs and an ex-McKinsey consultant, and you’ll be coached regularly.

  • International reach. We sell all over the world, and most of our users are American. You will liaise with global stakeholders. Our company's language is English.

  • Young colleagues. We’re 28 years old on average, so you won’t feel like the odd one out, and you might actually end up making new friends.

What we look for:

  • Passion for the role. You have an incurable, deep passion for Finance, Accounting, Fiscal and Legal topics.
  • Superlative analytical approach. You proceed with clear, logical steps, and show excellent judgment in looking at each problem from all angles. You're truly methodical and confident with numbers.

  • Precision. You are famously accurate and detail-attentive, both with minor and major tasks.

  • Impressive business acumen. You’re pragmatic, able to spot blatant and even subtle issues in the numbers, and eager to have an overall vision of the team’s strategy.

  • Reliability. You’re conscientious and can be trusted to deliver rigorous results in a fast-paced environment.

  • Integrity. Your work will impact our company’s reputation, which we want to be spotless. For this reason, you show an exceptional level of rectitude, but are flexible enough to reject dogmatism.

  • Proficient in English and Italian. Italian is your native language (or you have native proficiency) and you read and write well and speak at a conversational level in English.

  • Familiarity with Excel or Sheets. You’re savvy enough to smoothly use Google Docs, Google Sheets, and/or Microsoft Excel.

  • Communication. You’re able to express ideas clearly and concisely, in both written and oral form.

  • Team-orientation. You’re a team player eager to work with an A-team. At the same time, you're not afraid of working alone when required.
