Over almost 200 years, we have built a multinational Group that is present in more than 60 countries, with 470 companies and nearly 80,000 employees. Our Group aims to become the standard bearer and industry leader in the European retail insurance market, building on our existing base of 50 million retail clients, out of an overall total of 72 million.

We are looking for a manager leading the interaction between Local and Group Risk Management teams, as well as the relationship between GRM and external parties (other areas in the Group or external bodies, e.g. CRO forum, etc...). He or she will report directly to the Head Group Risk Capital Calculation and Reporting, mainly in relation to the following topics:

  • Steering interaction with Local Risk departments, 
  • Supporting GCRO in preparing C-level meetings, 
  • Reviewing documents providing Risk contribution to Group strategic projects 

The Group Risk Capital Calculation and Reporting area will be focused on the development, maintenance and run of the capital systems, in order to satisfy the needs of Group Risk Management users, Country users and any other stakholder within the Group, as well as the management of all the processes to support the regulatory activities like the scope extension and the on-cycle model changes. To accomplish this task, the area will be split in four main streams, Tools, Planning and Reporting, Governance and CRO office, the last of which will grant business interaction local vs Group within Risk Management area. In addition this last team will also support the GCRO in defining a proper business agenda to face the external parties and increase the Generali positioning in the WW risk management community As such, responsibilities of the role will include the following:
  • Managing GCRO worldwide business agenda; 
  • Support GCRO by facilitating regular interaction between Group and local CROs, including reviewing documents addressed to GCRO; 
  • Support of monitoring and steering the timelines of Risk Management projects at local level; 
  • Interact directly with Local CRO to steer projects planning and cross functional activities; 
  • Design, maintain and steer a Quarterly Risk Review process (QRR) aimed at standardizing and facilitating the interaction between Local and Group Risk departments on a Business as Usual basis. The QRR consists in a quarterly Group-Local CRO discussion focused on:
    -Risk results (SCR, RAC, ORSA and Pillar 2 risk assessment) 
    -Proposed risk mitigating actions and plan for the next quarters
    -Status of current risk projects 
  • Ensure proper coverage of official round table/institutional committees/CRO Forum where GCRO must attend; 
  • Coordinate the production of external communications by the Group CRO (e.g. documents to be presented to EIOPA); 
  • Drive, collect and critically analyze the contributes of the different GRM functions for the institutional committees; 
  • Prepare meetings of GCRO with non-Risk areas, including coordinating the production of supporting documentation to be produced by Risk and ensuring that issues are timely escalated to Group CRO; 
  • Support GCRO in steering/ supporting Group strategic projects. 

Main structures in the collaboration network of the CRO office works are the following:
  • Local CROs (and relevant local Head of), who are accountable for the quality of documents delivered to Head Office; 
  • Group Heads of worksterams ; 
  • CFO, CIO and other Head Office areas, who are the main contributors (input providers) or addressees (output reviewers) of Risk activities.

The ideal candidate will meet the following requirements:

  • Degree in Economics or Quantitative Subjects
  • Technical courses: Risk Management governance, Solvency II regulation, BAU process design and embedding process expert and strong management skills
  • Worked in the risk area of FSS firms, preferable if insurance, with Risk Management process and governance and with exposures to College of Supervisors and BoD or senior exec memebers in general
  • Relevant verbal written communication skills, strong relationship building and interpersonal skills with high leadership
