Top tier international hedge fund is looking for a junior to mid-level Japanese speaking analyst to support a Japan focused Portfolio Manager. This role would be based in their Tokyo office.
Responsibilities
- Conduct extensive research on the companies, regions, and sectors assigned to them using a range of valuation techniques
- Open to candidates with various sector focus particularly:
- -> Domestics: (Generalist or Retails / Internet / Gaming)
- -> Financial: (Banks, insurance, non-bank financials). Also open for fintech / e-commerce
- -> Cyclicals: (Export driven: Machinery, hardware tech, autos or Domestic driven: housing, real estate, transportation)
- Maintain databases of historical and current financial statements of the companies they cover
- Run financial models and perform valuation analysis on companies
- Study economic, business, political, and regulatory trends
- Research and monitor new and existing investments
- Design complex financial models
- Prepare oral and written reports that summarize their recommendation
Requirements
1-2 years (< 3 years), IBD / PE / L-only / LS are all welcome
Strong modeling skill is a MUST
Motivated and hungry
Japanese speaking essential; Mandarin or Korean speaking is a strong plus
