Network Security Engineer

Roles/Responsibilities

  • Support, manage and understand the architecture of the Japan network infrastructure including load balancers, proxies, firewalls and monitoring.
  • Investigate and adequately resolve issues related to network security as they occur, sometimes working closely with regional and global colleagues to fight security breaches.
  • Work with project teams throughout IT in Japan and regionally to ensure you meet project deadlines, targets and budgets.
  • Build network diagrams and documentation, perform network planning and implement changes working closely with project managers and local IT.
  • Handle continuous improvement of internal processes and procedures with a focus on standardising work and shifting it to operational teams.

Required skills
  • 3-5 years of experience in a hands-on role in Network Security and candidates must be currently located in Japan.
  • A very good knowledge of Firewall platforms such as Checkpoint or Palo Alto.
  • Strong knowledge of firewalls, routing, load balancing, TCP/IP, packet trace and analysis and knowledge of Linux systems.

Preferred skills
  • Experience working with Juniper hardware and MPLS.
  • Japanese language skills are not required but would be a plus if you have them.

  • Flexible and able to work at unusual hours as the role may require (time off in lieu system is available)
