To support the Chief Operating Officer (COO) in the daily operation of the Bank and to ensure that business operations are efficient and effective, and the proper cross-departmental management of support services to business lines and branches for sustained business growth, high productivity/ efficiency, with the aim of creating maximum value for the company's stakeholders and a superior customer experience.

Responsibilities

 

  • At the direction of the CEO and COO, reviewing, streamlining, standardising and integrating platforms and overseeing the Bank's operations
  • Establishing policies that promote the culture and vision of the Bank
  • Marshalling limited resources to the most productive use while fostering innovation and ensuring sustained superior service to customers
  • Developing and cascading the Bank's strategy and mission to BOTH Management and Staff, aligning rewards/ recognition and correlate practices to the Bank's performance targets 
  • Develop high level key indicators for the convenient review of the Board, the CEO and Management Team to drive performance and accountability on a sustainable basis 
  • Support the Bank in operating with the right balance of quality, flexibility, control and cost
  • Implement business strategies, operational plans and processes and mastery of change management 
  • Set comprehensive goals for performance and growth in consultation with the Board and CEO
  • Establish procedures that promote the culture and vision of the Bank
  • Oversee the operations of the Bank's back office and support units
  • Lead employees by example to encourage maximum and sustained performance 
  • Evaluate performance by analysing and interpreting data from the dashboard, data and metrics
  • Setting and enforcing robust operational controls 
  • Manage key vendor and partner relationships and participate in expansion activities
  • Identify and develop management talent with a view to localise key appointments at earliest convenience

Qualification and experience required

  • Undergraduate degree;
  • A Master’s degree/ professional qualifications will be an added advantage;
  • Requires supervisory experience of 10+ years in a similar work situation (preferably leadership of a 50+ office region), including demonstrated ability to plan, coordinate and organize service delivery, establish goals and objectives while mentoring and developing staff. Effectively coordinate, organize and delegate work duties.
