Vacancy is for professionals who will be expected to run customer relationships independently after working under supervision of Division Head and /or more senior staff


This is a full time position at grade 4/5

The term of this contract will be 4 years

The EIB offers fixed-term contracts of up to a maximum of 6 years, according to business needs,

with a possibility to convert to a permanent contract, subject to organisational requirements and individual performance.

 

Purpose

The Banker, known internally as a (Associate) Loan Officer, will contribute to the development and execution of the Division's business plan. He/she is expected to contribute to the identification, appraisal, negotiation, and monitoring of corporate lending operations primarily in Poland.  He/she will also provide business support and transaction execution capacity to his/her more senior colleagues in the Division.

 

Operating Network

Reports to the Head of Division and collaborates closely with colleagues in the Division, throughout Ops and in other Directorates.

 

Accountabilities

Under the supervision of the Head of Division and senior colleagues, the main focus of the post-holder will be:

 

Execution of lending operations and origination support:

  • Identify new business opportunities and contribute to the Division’s business origination and customer relationship management efforts  
  • Contribute to the structuring and execution of corporate lending operations; carry out due diligence and risk assessments, including the preparation of financial and feasibility analyses of projects, in cooperation with other relevant internal services/EIB Directorates

 

Negotiation of contracts:

  • Participate in the negotiation and closing of legal documentation with promoters/borrowers and other counterparts, in coordination with relevant other Directorates/services

 

Monitoring:

  • Contribute to the monitoring of existing operations
  • Carry out measures related to event resolution, in cooperation with customers and other relevant internal services

     

Optimisation of operating tools and working methods:

  • Contribute to the development of the working methods, tools and processes used in the Division
  • Provide input to ongoing product development

     

Qualifications

  • University degree in a relevant area, preferably in Finance/Economics
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in the financial sector, preferably in corporate lending.
  • Experience in customer relationship management
  • Strong knowledge of financial analysis as well as experience in credit risk assessment
  • Understanding of project appraisal and execution processes and policies
  • Good knowledge of standard computer tools
  • Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English as well as a good command of French (*). Knowledge of Polish would be a strong advantage.

(*) There may be certain flexibility on this requirement, but limited to particularly suitable candidates who may not yet be proficient in French. If selected, such candidates will be hired on the condition that they build up rapidly knowledge of French and accept that their future career in the EIB may be subject to the attainment of sufficient proficiency in both of the Bank's working languages
