Director - Fund Administration and Reporting

The Luxembourg based GFAR (Global Fund Administration and Reporting) Team oversees 9 Luxembourg product ranges (UCITs and AIFs), across a variety of asset classes representing over 100 funds. The Team's main responsibilities consist of: statutory audit coordination and delivery of financial and periodic reporting; internal and external board reporting and attendance; oversight and monitoring of fund expense budgets and fund distributions; product events support; NAV delivery oversight; participation and contribution to Franklin Templeton governance bodies and committees; regulatory engagement & Luxembourg fund accounting technical expertise; outsourced service provider management; relationship & communication with a wide range of internal stakeholders (Luxembourg Manco Leadership and Management, Product, Sales, Portfolio Management etc.). The position reports to VP of FTS Global Fund Admin istration & Reporting based in Edinburgh.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

Production & Delivery (70%):
• Ensure effective oversight of fund administration activities performed offshore or by third party fund service providers. This would include NAV validation, financial reporting, fund expense governance, income distribution, various regulatory reporting and filings etc.
• Ensure that fund audits proceed smoothly by making certain that information supplied to auditors is complete and accurate
• Manage and support Product change and Regulatory complexities
• Ensure appropriate controls are maintained to monitor service providers performance
• Assist in the co-ordination of Board of Directors meeting materials and attend board meetings whenever required
• Maintenance of key relationships with other offices and departments promoting best practices
• Represent GFAR in various internal/external forums and provide actions / decisions / directions which impact the department
• Further develop and maintain policies and procedures in line with Global Regulatory requirements & internal FTI policies
• Proactively identify additional or streamlined approaches to existing processes in order to enhance controls or maintain effective control with greater efficiency
• Build collaborative relationships with executives, senior management, Portfolio Managers, Product, service providers, conducting officers

People (25%):
• Make decisions on staff hiring, provides development opportunities for future growth, coach and mentor talent across department(s)
• Responsible for calibrating performance ratings of subordinate leaders, guides subordinate leaders in accurately applying pay for performance compensation philosophy
• Assist in setting the department(s) future talent and structural vision based on long-term business goals, design and implement organizational team structures to meet current needs

Financial Management (5%):
• Develops and manages budget within department(s), working closely with senior leadership to ensure business goals are met within established financial budgets

Requirements and Expectations:

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience. Master's Degree preferred but not necessary
• The equivalent of 5+ year's management experience either directly managing employees or playing a strong and effective leadership role in a project management setting
• In-depth business management knowledge to establish direction and priorities and technical expertise or ability to apply broad functional/process knowledge to complex and diverse issues
• Able to lead across multiple locations/regions, cultures and time zones
• Qualifications in CPA, CIMA, CA and ACCA preferred
• Fluent English in both writing and speaking, French is an advantage
