The candidate will lead a team of PE/RA professionals responsible for multiple client relationships.  This is a high-profile VP role within the Private Equity/Real Estate Business Unit of the State Street Alternative Investment Solutions Unit reporting to the Head of EMEA PERA.
The ideal candidate should have at least 10 years’ experience in the Private Equity with strong managerial skills to lead a fast growing and highly dynamic team servicing large and complex clients.  The candidate will interact and build strong relationships with the clients and internal parties to support the clients’ growth and requirements.  As such, exceptional interpersonal and communication skills are required. The ideal candidate must also demonstrate solid technical skills and be able to simultaneously lead multiple initiatives. The candidate will play a key role in driving efficiencies in the group, strengthening controls and managing deliverables.  The candidate needs to exhibit strong leadership skills and be a change agent able to drive growth, superior client service and risk excellence. Management of and supervision of all subordinate staff levels within the Fund Accounting & Admin team in Luxembourg

  • Manage priorities and internal workflows to ensure internal processing and client deadlines are met.  Oversee coordination of team deliverables, both with clients and internally, such as financial statements, capital calls and distribution notices
  • Contribute to positive collaborative working culture within the fund accounting team, promoting our values
  • Interact and collaborate with other team leaders to ensure coordination of deliverables and achieving of company goals
  • Attract, develop and retain top talent to support our clients and grow the business
  • Responsibility over P&L and growth targets
  • Ensure the development and implementation of training for all levels of accounting staff and management

Oversight of a robust control environment:

  • Active participant the local Management and risk committee as required
  • Implement process improvement changes and continuously look for ways to enhance controls and efficiency in the group
  • Ensure that all client deliverables are met on time and service is of the highest quality
  • Perform oversight of any outsourced fund accounting or financial reporting work

Maintain relationships with clients/internal stakeholders:

  • Lead relationship with client contacts
  • Promote the business and develop contacts with the right individuals within audit and law firms and other industry professionals
  • Play a key role in service review meetings
  • Develop relationships with colleagues across the globe to support clients and advance company projects

Provide technical support:

  • Review and develop understanding of investment fund legal documents, including complete understanding of investor allocations and distribution waterfalls, and assist staff in ensuring all accounting procedures and calculations are consistent with governing documents
  • Support the FA team in review of complex calculations
  • Prepare materials supporting new business opportunities and presentations
  • Participate and lead special client or internal projects as required


  • Candidates must have a college degree (accounting degree strongly preferred; business, mathematics, finance or economics degree required)
  • 10 or more years of accounting experience, including 5 years of managerial experience 
  • Strong Private Equity experience within a service provider, asset manager or audit firm and Investran knowledge highly desirable. 
  • Professional accounting qualification is a plus
  • Familiarity with the Luxembourg regulatory environment is desirable
  • Strong computer skills are required
