To ensure financial reporting is timely, accurate and in accordance with relevant laws and regulations. The incumbent will also be expected to provide advice and assistance on accounting issues across the wider Operations group.

To ensure financial reporting is timely, accurate and in accordance with relevant laws and regulations. The incumbent will also be expected to provide advice and assistance on accounting issues across the wider Operations group.

Role Responsibilties:

  • Co-ordinate and review Columbia Threadneedle input to the financial reporting process
  • Oversight of controls around the preparation of financial statements by Luxembourg administrator
  • Attendance at Luxembourg senior management meetings including quarterly Board meetings
  • Review of all report and accounts produced by third party administrator
  • Manage each reporting cycle with auditors, administrators and internally including the sign off an approval process by the Board
  • Ensure all audit findings followed through to complete resolution
  • Build an open and effective relationship with all service providers (administrators, auditors etc)
  • and internal stakeholders
  • Operate, maintain and enhance financial reporting oversight framework
  • Provide accounting advice on complex issues across the operations teams
  • Actively participate in regular meetings with service providers
  • Manage investor tax – ensure share classes set up for appropriate tax reporting with administrator and ensure that investor tax reporting completed by auditor within agreed time frame and costs. Respond to investor tax queries
  • Monthly accruals and budget reporting
  • Provide support to the Fund Accounting Oversight Associate who is responsible for day to day oversight of the fund accounting service provider

Key Capabilities:


Essential: 

  • Lux GAAP accounting experience
  • The ability to run with a series of issues/pieces of work concurrently
  • Ability to work with limited supervision
  • Show high attention to detail and the ability to work within a structured environment
  • Team player with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Knowledge and experience of the industry, markets and instruments in particular CSSF regulations
  • The ability to speak authoritatively with senior management and stand ground on difficult issues
  • Qualified accountant


 Desirable:

  • Knowledge of derivatives
  • Experience of working in an outsourced environment
  • IA SORP Fund accounting experience
